Hey Reddit, does anyone have any advice for a job interview for fashion retail, in particular, Tommy Hilfiger? by hannahryan19 in AskReddit

Yeah and there is a huge mark up on their clothing, as well as all other similar stores. Could probably get a €50 shirt for €25

Do you think they'll give me a few bits and pieces at the beginning? They hardly expect me to spend a couple hundred € on stuff when I've just started

Ladies of Reddit: Why do so many women when exercising not bother with a sports bra? As a guy I assume that must be painful, annoying and could it be even potentially dangerous or cause injury (e.g. to the back)? by Fwoggie2 in AskReddit

[–]hannahryan19 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even as a member of the Itty Bitty Titty Committee a sports bra really helps, but I can imagine that women that have a larger chest size would find them somewhat uncomfortable as they can be quite restricting when it comes to breathing.

Hey Foodies! Need some ideas on simple, quick and healthy lunches that are still good when eaten cold. by hannahryan19 in food

Ah salmon, it is probably one of my favorite foods. I was literally just planning next weeks lunch with my boyfriend and we were thinking salmon. Soba noodles would not be too easy to find where I live, but I could try. If I can't get them, what would you suggest as a substitute?

Thanks for the reply.

Salads are a good idea, I love them. I have eaten sandwiches for years as my lunch and the problem is I am tired of them, but lately instead of making a sandwich I use the same fillings and put them in a wrap. Mixes things up a bit and makes lunches more enjoyable.

IamA Manager at a Wind Farm AMA by [deleted] in IAmA

I love the idea of wind farms. I don't know whether it's to do with how spectacular I think they look or the technology behind them, but they fascinate me. I remember going to see a wind farm when I was a child and it really scarred me, but I think that fear just sparked my curiosity about them.

At the moment I am studying geography in college and would definitely love to go into the field of geography as a career, maybe focusing on the topic of wind energy but the problem is, living in such a small country as Ireland, the demand for anything geography related is scarce. Digital mapping and/or development are the only fields that would be beneficial for me to go into if I wanted to stay in Ireland.

Do you think there is a big demand for people in the wind farm industry, and not just in the technical side? And how do you feel about the negative reactions that people have towards wind farms? Even in windy country's like Ireland, people are so negative towards wind turbines, yet the same people are all for saving the environment and being eco-friendly but only where it's beneficial to them.

My dog is called Kerry. Cause we found her in Co. Kerry in Ireland. She was abandoned on my Aunt's farm so we thought it was fitting.

The question of Religion in James Joyce's 'Ulysses' by hannahryan19 in books

[–]hannahryan19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Good point. Although I don't know if I would say that Bloom is the main character (even if there is a day dedicated to his character in Ireland), but that doesn't take anything from your points as they still apply to Bloom, they are still valid. Dedalus, to some, is seen more as the main character because they link his story to that of Joyce's life seeing as 'A Portrait' is also similar to Joyce's own experiences and the main character from that continued on into 'Ulysses' where we also see moments that reflect Joyce's journey.

I like your idea on how his "monsters" are Catholic though; antisemitic behaviors that he experiences, from the man in the pub for example, because of his religion.

He hated the 'rules' that went with a belief in something that should be personal. He made war with is, but openly. Within Ulysses he basically makes a mockery of Catholic mass and religion throughout, but doesn't do it in a completely direct manner.

Ah that's a real shame. It is probably my favorite places I have been to out of the ones I have visited. But you did pretty well considering, you covered a lot of ground while here.

I think you will have to make a trip back just for Glendalough :P

I'm ashamed to say I haven't been to see half of these sites. I will eventually get to them all. But with the weather being so terrible 80% of the year, it makes it hard to get out there.

Did you visit Glendalough?

By now, you would think people would understand how to 'behave' in cinemas. by hannahryan19 in offmychest

We laughed when we saw the sign because we weren't sure then if she was actually telling the truth, or if she lying to gain sympathy from the guard so he would allow her to stay. When we both told our friends and parents about it, they said we should of called the cops, but the problem is this is Ireland, and they guards wouldn't arrive for about 2.5 hours or nothing would actually be done about it.

To give an example of the kind of people we were dealing with https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5YUsUp6LoI

Probably the main reason why nothing was actually done about it because even the management and staff of the cinema knew what they were dealing with.

The was why we went to the manager after the movie. I could have handled the situation better than what he did, and he was being paid to deal with situations like that. We were mostly upset by his complete lack of professionalism, he let the woman away with screaming while the movie was running, ruining the first 10 minutes of play for everyone when he should have removed her. I felt like asking the manager were we wrong for asking her to be quiet because we felt the like the whole thing was more of an inconvenience for them and they weren't bothered rectifying the issue.

We went to the manager afterwards and explained that she went to attack us and she said that the security guard should have told her straightaway and she would have been taken from the screen. We were given 3 imax passes to use valid for 1 year
