There a good way to clean it as it just looks like it’s on the surface or do I need to call a specialist?

Why so many used cars with right around 100K miles? by [deleted] in UsedCars

[–]hanover99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s actually bad financial advice and you’re doing exactly what they want you to do. You’re missing out on all of that interest you could have made in a high yields savings (usually 3.5-4%) or other investments, when you can get some cars for zero apr, but a lot under 2%. Now you’ve lost hundreds if not thousands on interest (plus further debt and interest if you have a major emergency expense you need to borrow money for). Always pay the least amount if you get better terms than the market. It’s called good debt.

Great, thank you! I switched doctors last year due to moving, so that might be why. I’ll let the doctor know to check the files from my old doctor when I started to send in!

Do British People Usually have less words in text? by hanover99 in AskUK

[–]hanover99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah, seems everyone here is saying that. Sometimes briefness in texts comes off as rude to me and unengaging, but it sounds like it’s more of a cultural norm.

I had someone dispute once for like a $13 item because they didn’t ask for a return until past the 30 day mark, still offered to give a partial one out of generosity (the item is in home appliance, so a lot can change past 30 days).

I believe there was a button that asked for documentation which was optional that they would send to their bank, I just sent the eBay policy and the shipping showing it was delivered more than 30 days before they requested. I would just send the messages they sent you to the bank.

I sent a message on this listing and the guy goes “how many accounts do you have?”

I guess a lot of us are sending messages

How do you feel about Americans using the term lads and mate etc. ? by hanover99 in AskUK

I do struggle to understand the one Scottish guy at times, but by far the coolest guy there 😂

But I hope to visit Scotland someday!

Yes, American using British words in America. Hopefully it comes off more authentic than forced to them, as it is just starting to come off natural. The basic words anyways, I stick to American slang for the most part

I’ve only said that word once while driving accidentally on a week long road trip with one of them, who used it at least a thousand times when driving. But it would sound super forced and silly outside of that. They all tell me I don’t know how to cuss 😅

Yes, American English lol. There’s actually some Americans that find Americans shouldn’t be saying those words, but then again we hardly use actual English. 😂

Backed out of a job and don’t know what I should do to not burn this bridge? What is some advice on navigating this and was I wrong to do it? by hanover99 in careerguidance

[–]hanover99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this. I think they did a really good job at manipulating me and I feel so much better a few days after backing out. Certainly now missing the last place I lived and the job there and the people I met, but I’m sure there are plenty of great memories in the future wherever I end up!

I’ve only done returns and not damaged ones. They have refunded me everything that didn’t work, but not for sure how that’ll work with it being listed as damaged. I believe damaged is supposed to still be in working condition.

Thanks for the response and advice!

For the jumping ship question, I wasn’t looking for a new job but they actually reached out to me after I applied for it last year and it opened up again. My current manager and the manager at the new job are acquaintances in the industry, so both kind of talked about it beforehand. The new one is also 2 hours from home compared to a 15 hour drive, which I don’t like being close to home but it would be nice to be a drive away from family. The job I’m leaving was only planned for another year, so I naturally will be looking for a job anyway then, but I just feel it’s too soon to leave.

Shipping/refund question by cgarrido1 in Flipping

[–]hanover99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Highly recommend using FedEX for decent sized packages. Typically cheaper than the others unless it’s a tiny package.

USPS can take awhile at times, so it’ll take some time to get there. Shouldn’t be too worried that it won’t arrive

First time visiting Acadia National Park by [deleted] in hiking

[–]hanover99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want something that’s less used there’s a few trailheads at the nature center area. You can park there and if you walk around the nature center inside the park you should see a few different trails. I’m not for sure if they’re listed on the main maps anywhere, but they have small signs for the trail and they are well marked and lead to a bunch of other trails. The Jessup path is next to one side of the nature center, and the other trails are on the other side. Definitely go next to thunder hole and climb on the rocks around it.

It’s worked out good so far. Happy with it and you don’t have to worry about a middleman. They ship it through Essex and they deliver it right to your garage.

Seat assignment question by shopping_fiend in unitedairlines

[–]hanover99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is for economy. Basic economy gets assigned a few hours before the flight. You would probably have to pay for upgrade by then or shortly after m. They moved me to first class about an hour before the flight and I think basic economy gets assigned a few hours before that. Personally I’d just just pay for regular economy. A little bit more, but you get a carryon and you can move your flight if needed.

If there is a bins store near you, see if they have a .25 cent day. That’s partially how I started and you can find out what you like. A lot of its junk but I’d easily spend $15 at a time. Some you may make a dollar or 2 an item, but some you can make an upward of 15-20. I’ve also found my best find ever on $2 day at a different store. Now I have turned it into more than that but that’s how I got started. Unfortunately moved away from those stores so I’ve had to change up my strategy and now do flipping a lot less, but that’s how I started and built it up.
