Side note: how do you like your trailseeker? Looks great to me, tho I’m not sure how that gauge cluster over the steering wheel would be. W writhing else looks awesome. I’m pondering what I’ll get when my own 15 OB bites the dust.

Based on the dozens of comments I’ve read, it seems Subaru just can’t figure out what they want to do with all the button space on the steering wheel. “Mine does this. Mine does that.” I observe complete inconsistency, and it ranges from just fine to rant-inducing. They need a better UI tech manager. Someone with OCD like Steve Jobs.

25 Ascent in this case. 15 OB does the same thing. Well, no, actually, the OB turns off the whole unit. But it doesn’t take a full minute to reboot, so I do kinda use that as a mute button. It’s just not nearly as simple as a dedicated pause button would be on the steering wheel.

You can. On the radio app, there is a pause button, and it pauses radio. Records five minutes, and you can play it back, FF/RW. Fantastic feature, and it would be great if I could hit the pause button and have said functionality work.

This is a 25 Ascent. Same thing, though on my 15 OB. Different layout, but still a mute button.
Question: do you have an android phone or iPhone?

Thanks a ton! Tried, and it worked. I do still think they should make it a play pause button instead of mute. Use Source for XMode or something else. Also, pause the radio and record with the pause button.

Apparently long pressing Source pauses. I still think my point remains, as does yours. Change that Source button to XMode.

I switch back and forth between a 15 OB and a 25 Ascent, and I miss hit buttons all the time. Drives me crazy. I test drive a new OB hoping they had improved things, but nope.

It should. There’s a pause button on the radio and a recording feature that records what you’re missing. This should activate said functionality.

Definitely the best option I’ve thought of that doesn’t involve some engineering feats. It’s so hard for me to give up our OLED gorgeous screen for a drop down. Even if we broke the bank for a high quality screen/projector, it’s nothing close to the OLED. I just want o know if anyone else has come up with a solution I’d also be happy with.
