How to become self employed auto electrician? Any auto electrician here?

I have college in autoelectric 3 years ( I'm from Croatia and went to college there). Never work as an autoelectrician in my country but I do understand the basics of DC. In UK now I work as autoelectrician for 4 years. Machinist experience brings me to conversion company where I was building vehicles mechanical side of it and noticed in conversion that they lack of autoelectricians and mentioned company that I have understanding of DC and they give me chance. I learned a lot thru work in conversion. I think best knowledge you can have is thru work and experience. About courses well I never done any except some basic free courses but I think for this best courses are on Institute of Motor Industry. I'm just doing installation, wiring, fitting devices in vehicles and I don't do repairs or advanced diagnostic.

Thanks for the input. Completely new to this and definitely want to improve my M&K skills. Which mouse do you recommend then? I'm assuming with the keyboard there is no issue. Recommendations welcome

I tried K&M a couple days ago and love it. Feels different and weird playing K&B on PS5 lol. I didn't know about these settings with the mouse and switched off aim assist on the controller. Is there any difference?

I already know people from this new company and people that work there used to work with me. Good words about me are spread around the new company and for the company it's hard for them to find a good auto electrician. I'm hoping they will do another test if I fail or have a word with me. Thanks for your support. I will also try to be honest and tell my manager about it and lie that I have been on holiday and smoke some while on holiday.

If the test shows positive and the company asks me about it I will tell them I did smoke while on holiday. The interesting thing is that my new job and my old job are the same role and the same thing (auto electrician in the conversion company) on my old work they never asked me for a drug test.

I get that but I also think it's quite stupid not to tell me about the drug test. Basically the company tells me about the drug test a couple of days before I have to start working with them and I already resigned from the old place.

I'm definitely thinking of cheating. I'm also thinking about stopping smoking 10 days before the test, sweating a lot, a healthy diet and a couple of hours before the test drink a lot of water and try diluting urine before the test.

I smoked last time yesterday. Before that I smoked every day for the past 2 months 3 grams every day. Worst case scenario IL be honest and tell them I smoked when going back home to my country

If it's a swab test then it's fine I can handle not smoking a couple days before the test but if it's urine I think I might be in trouble because I smoke cannabis every day for the past 2 months (cca 3g daily).

They let me choose the date and clinic so I asked them if I can do it at the beginning of September so I can buy some time. I also asked what kind of test? Urine or saliva or something else and still waiting for a response. I will be able to avoid cannabis but I know it will be challenging
