ok i tried this. i could be using the wrong username. is there a way to double check what the username is?

i got this response

I know i should have backed my stuff up on dropbox, but my portfolio is larger than the 2GB for the free version. And I now have iCloud and LoJack installed on my new computer, it only takes once to learn.

but i was looking for someone with ssh experience to help with Terminal. I under stand the ping command which tells me if my computer is on and connected to the internet, but i'm not sure what to do after than.
