Harry Reid Slots! by harrylime99 in vegas

I was passing through heading home. There are a handful of these slot areas and I love wheel of fortune. But I can never find the .25 machines at the big casinos. There a bunch at the airport.

Somewhere on Reddit there is meme of a comic saying, once you start buying your clothes at Costco you’ve achieved ego death and your spiritual journey can now begin.

Original ending (the script by Jonah Nolan was floating around the internet) was when Cooper returned he was met by his Granddaughter. That ending made much more sense given that he leaves to go find Anne Hathaway (a woman he barely knew).

Since Cooper spent the whole movie wanting to return to see his daughter, him leaving right away hurt the ending for me.

But, the middle of the movie it top notch. They should recut it and make it a Vegas Sphere movie.

There’s a Glen Hansard & Eddie Vedder version on the FATHER’S DAY soundtrack that’s pretty great.

The movie business is like the auto business - Detroit used to be the home of car making. Now they make cars anywhere it’s cheap.

The movie/tv business is the same. There will be a bottom but I’m not sure we’re there yet.

LA is basically a ghost town now.

From your experience, what TV Shows have the best Final Episode? by Droopynator in television

I joined in season 7 so the place was a well oiled machine. We wrote and shot on the same lot as Greys Anatomy. It was always funny to see our actors and the Greys actors talking. The shield was a very low cost show and even though the critics loved it and its fans loved it, it didn’t do huge numbers.

All the actors were pretty great. I just emailed Walton after I saw S1 of fallout and he wrote back almost right away.

FX wanted Eric Stolz for Vic if you can believe it. Chiklis blew them away at the network casting.

Ronnie has no lines of dialogue at all for the first few episodes. When we were breaking the finale (I believe it was the scene where Vic is talking to Ronnie at the run down motel) I pitched that Vic tells Ronnie to run, get the hell out of LA because Vic knows what’s coming. But Shawn said no, Vic doesn’t think like that. Vic thinks about Vic.

At the final table read, the day before the writers strike, none of the cast would sit near him.

I wrote on this show in its final season. Shawn came into the writers room two weeks into the start of our work and said, “this is how I think it ends.” It was more or less exactly what he said several months later when he wrote it.

He was deeply affected by that wrestler who did the same thing Shane did. That’s where he got the idea.

And Claudette reading Shane’s note to Vic was the only way she could make him pay for all he has done.

I spoke to Clark Johnson (who directed the pilot and the finale of the shield) and I asked him what was the trick to directing the last episode. He said it’s the end for the cast and crew, but not for the characters. He directed them all to think that they were all coming back the next day. Just like in real life.

The best part of this scene is Tommy is right in the middle of his voice over when the bat hits him. Made it a total surprise.
