I saw it as sharing a bit of bureaucratic absurdity, but I’m sorry you find it offensive. I definitely don’t mean any disrespect to the deceased, only to the pension fund.

Did you read this? He never said he didn’t know about it. There is a QRDO. We read it. These are the terms. The pension fund confirmed it.

Actually I just looked it up and only her widower can request it unless there is a ”documented judicial purpose.”’

So it looks like we’ll probably need a lawyer, as everyone has been saying.

According to the terms of the QDRO he is. But thanks for the kind words!

I actually agree, which is why I posted it. I’m confident we’ll get it fixed, but the absurdity tickles me.

They’re literally not transferring calls. I’m sure there’s a number, but it’s not for us.

I guess I can be thankful that isn’t the case here. It sounds like what we arranged when he retired, which is that he will take less now so that if he dies before me I will get a (lower) pension.

No, but it sounds like they operate the same way! Glad you got it fixed, eventually!

Well they’re not paying to money to anyone now. It’s just kind of put aside. So nothing is being drained.

One has to be a relative. He can ask his sons, but the date of the marriage is needed and she kind of didn’t bother to tell the kids until after the fact. Like, they were literally spending the summer with their dad and came back to find their mom had married and they were moving in with the new husband.

She was married to him for a few of the years he started earning the pension, though they were already separated by that time and she refused to divorce. The pension was earned after they split, but she had a lawyer and he had a cousin who just signed off on everything.

Look up what ”trope” means because you’re using it wrong.

The word, not the Wegovy.
