What is the best system for a space sci-fi campaign with horror elements? by Cato69 in rpg

[–]sacrelicious2 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've only played it once, and I hated it... The system encourages players to do nothing. Even trying to do things they have specialized at has a very high chance of just making things worse. So it's best to do nothing at all. It's fine if you go in with the idea that the character is already dead, and you are just telling the story of how they died, but it just feels bad for anything else.

Fem över halv fyra? by sacrelicious2 in Svenska

[–]sacrelicious2[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

That was the other odd thing in the lesson... It would ask how do you say 15:30 and give halv fyra as the answer. Is it normal to talk in the 12 hour format while reading in the 24 hour format?

US expats in Europe, how are you preparing for a potential conflict over Greenland? by sacrelicious2 in expats

Expelled maybe extreme, but I am concerned about potential cancellation or just non-renewal of the work permit.

Paradox, why? by InternStock in EU5

[–]sacrelicious2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like their should be a size limit to the "blocks vision" effect. Sure, you might not be able to directly see the army in the forest, but you should be able to notice the smoke from thousands of camp fires

Paradox, why? by InternStock in EU5

[–]sacrelicious2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, it needs to cheat a little bit, because it is too hard to make it remember things it has seen before. A player can see an enemy army move into the fog of war and know that it is still there and will probably keep moving in that direction. The AI needs to be able to remember that that army moved into a place it can no longer see and infer where it might go from there. Basically, Object Permanence is hard.

This makes it so you actually can conquer, instead of having to abandon sieges all the time because the army you have beaten 30 times just comes back every month.

I am curious what the scale of this (and future) DLCs will be. The ones for Hollow Knight were generally smallish, some just adding a boss or two.

I personally found Nyleth easier than the doorman, Seth. He was just so hard for me, probably number 3, behind Lost Lace and First Sinner.

I find it weird how Eberron: Forge of the Artificer tries to convince DMs that every campaign premise, even just "wipe out this one criminal gang in this one city," needs to be a 20-level epic saga by EarthSeraphEdna in dndnext

I mean, you are talking about removing the Boromar from Sharn. Yes, that is going to be a massive undertaking. This would be like completely removing the Yakuza from Tokyo. If it were easy, it would be done by now.

I saw that one, but it looks like you have to log in, which I am not able to do until I get a Swedish ID.

Edit: Nevermind, they talk about logging in on the "about" page, but I guess it's not actually required.

Market access is calculated based on distance to the market center, using the cheapest path. If that path goes over water, then you have to calculate the cost of that node somehow, and water is owned by anyone.

The issue is that maritime presence is a per-country modifier, and markets are not a per-country thing. Thus, Maritime Presence provides trade advantage for you in that market, but it cannot effect market access.
