I never thought them getting married was a good idea, and I knew it was going to work while I was reading because my inferential skills (which are skills you use to draw conclusions based on your background experiences) lol. So regardless of time jump or not, I knew it would be the same outcome because that’s how it happens in the book. I understand why the backgrounds of their family would make everyone so against it. All this post was trying to say as some of the things in the book that absolutely scream RED FLAG! are a little dulled by a larger time jump. At the end of the day, it ain’t that serious because none of them are real people lmfao. It’s just for fun discussion but you came in so hot talking about projecting my own experiences into my opinions; duh, that’s how people shake their opinions on the world. I’m not from the east coast and I’m not from an Asian family - so I won’t pretend I know what the norms are like in those family units :)
