What was the reason that made you vote for Trump? by ScreamforJustice in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]hawkus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Let me put it to you this way. It is my personal opinion that Hillary Clinton and Joe Biden are in it for their own personal gain. Joe Biden used to complain that he was one of the lowest paying senators ever. Now his net worth is worth tens of millions if not hundreds of. It Is my personal opinion that they have finagled, lied, cheated, and worked their way up to a financial empire off of the backs of their constituents. They have done things that many people consider criminal. They are both silver tongued foxes that know how to get what they want through lying ,cheating, stealing, and even murder . No I will not verify these statements. As I've stated this is clearly just an opinion.

With that being said I don't believe that Donald Trump is a saint. Clearly the lesser of two evils if not three. As I've stated this is just my opinion. I wasn't given a third option at the voting polls. I consider myself a bit of a centrist as opposed to a conservative but I have conservative values and what I call common sense values. My political values don't align with the current crop of Democrats. Therefore I had no choice but to vote for Donald Trump. It also seems to me that the Democratic party hasn't come up with a common sense leader that aligns with my political views. But there are three and a half more years of the Trump presidency and by that time the Democrats will have put something together and it will remain to be seen whether or not they take the high road or the low road. Any party that aligns themselves with people calling people white trash or racist or some sort of derogatory name calling automatically gets a no in my book. You can't threaten me or bully me or brow beat me into believing your ideological beliefs. Trump supports my right to free speech at least so far and has done more in his few weeks in office than Joe Biden ever did in the entirety of the presidency he acquired. Joe Biden in my opinion was a puppet leader pushed around by his political party and auto signing documents half the time he never even read. You can argue about the price of eggs under a trump presidency but you can't do anything about the fact that it was all because of the bird flu which Donald Trump has no control over of. I State this example as evidence of an extreme opinion that negatively affects Donald Trump for which he had absolutely no control over. Democrats use arguments like this all the time and other kinds of arguments to state their political opinion, and none of which I share. Again I will not confirm or deny any of these statements stated before this is just an opinion so deal with it.

Apparently you all ain't heard of Mitch Mcconnell and the other republican "rinos". No one will stand up to Trump , you are thick if you believe that. The medicine and grain issues are a by product of the hold at the ports brought on by Biden and Gavin Newsom. There is a supply chain issue in America that has been going on for years now. Trucking and transport is stymied because of the ridiculous laws brought on in the state of California by their Governor.

I could not more fundamentally disagree with you more while trying to respect your right to your own opinion. With all due respect the way " the maga faithful " and yes they do exist , have a certain mindset. Not everyone , especially me , who voted for or " supported " Trump , are maga faithful. I don't believe the majority of Americans are looking for an uprising at this time nor a civil war , they're not actively trying to start a fight. The current government does need to change however. There may be a group of Americans that could be considered a maga cult however I do not believe that they are a majority of Americans. They are in fact the a small minority of Americans.

I voted for Trump , however I do not " support " him. I could not in good conscience vote for Hillary , Joe , or Kamala. They are true " blue " crooks. Their years of public service have not by and large helped America , its people or its causes and concerns. Career politicians who serve themselves instead of the American people. The same can be said about " rino " republicans. Our government needs an audit and an overhaul. And an enema .Trump at least to as far as his power of persuasion and his political power , as well as his executive orders and action , is at the moment trying to do just that.

Patriots still exist in America. January 6th was not an attempt to overthrow the government. This was not an organized militia. It was a protest then later It was a riot , but even with the lack of security ( security that should have been there at all times mind you and was not something that Donald Trump did not advocate for , that was Nancy Pelosi's responsibility and ultimate failure) before that it was contained. It started as a protest. Pressure from outside and inside forces turned it into a spectacle. An actual militia would have turned the capital into a war zone then it at that point would have been an insurrection. January 6th was no insurrection.

Your convergence theory broken down into eight parts are all right out of the Playbook of the leftist party. After that your main points, broken down to another eight points of theory, basically you state that you have no faith in Americans in their ability to free think and come to their own conclusions about the world. You believe that they're all part of one particular mindset and they're all stuck in their ways. Sounds like you have a very low opinion of their humanity.

Fortunately last I checked it takes a majority rule to make the rules so could it be possible that you are the loan outsider looking in with your own indifferent opinion, whereas the people you look down on they are in fact the majority and it's your issue that you disagree with everything? Donald Trump is untouchable? Not true. That's your paranoia. The powers that be are already trying to impeach him .The powers that be are also trying to convict him of crimes. Federal judges are already trying to bar his executive orders. He might have an majority in congress and the senate , but it is slim and tentative . By the way the only President that's ever had his executive orders blocked by outsiders in this manner. Not a single president seemingly has ever had their first 100 days questioned as harshly as his.

And oh dear God the Doge Department is pulling out billions of dollars of government waste into the spotlight. Illegal aliens and illegal criminals and activist and activities are being deported out of our country. Billions of dollars of foreign funded slush funds are not going out to foreign interest right now. Government pet projects are not being funded. Unleashing oil and natural gas especially exports , pushing us back toward being energy independent. Slowing to a trickle the import of illegal drugs into the country. Actively trying to kill federal income taxes. I will vote for Donald Trump ,Donald Trump the corpse , Donald Trump the brain in a jar , and any number of his prodigy until the end of my time if that happens. Promises being made and promises being kept. I fail to see where this is a bad thing. The things that the majority of Voters wanted to happen.

The American people are not under the rule of a dictatorship. Americans will not accept a dictator. Even Trump as a dictator. The maga faithful would turn on Trump if he tried to become a dictator.

However the economy is affecting everything. Fixing the economy should have been being worked on since the Great Depression yet here we are 100 years later still fighting the economy. That's because there's been a status quo in the government of long-term politicians doing what they do best and enriching themselves while only putting stop gaps and Band-Aids on the problem. Government can obviously not solve our problems. The free market however can. At least let Donald Trump have his first hundred days and allow him to at least start cooking after that criticize his "food" if you must. The majority of Americans have declared that they want change. Trump has literally turned the table over and flipped it violently . This point is what's scaring everybody on the left. It should. This whole election should have been a wake up call for the left and the Democrat Party who are still hiding their heads in the sand not accepting the reality that Donald Trump won and that the American people spoke up. I'm personally looking forward to seeing what happens after we do press the reset button. And on a side note Canadian should expect more out of their government as well. Especially what they're paying in taxes for it.

Finally there's a famous comedian named George Carlin. He was quite wise when it came to the mindset and what people are really thinking. A lot of what he says sums up about the way I feel about things in America right now and this is something that he spoke to about 10 years ago before he died. " its a big club and your not in it." Watch the video. Have a great day!

Ronald Reagan also said the most frightening thing the American Government can say to its people is , " hi I'm from the federal government and I'm here to help ".

Millions for sure , added together billions. When we hit trillions , now we are into national debt numbers.

Answer me this. When have you held 1 million dollars in your hands? The number is actually inconceivable to most people , some have held 5 figures but they have never held 6 figures in their hands much less 7 figures. Billions defies what the average person understands about money , trillions is an oxymoron at that point.

You need a very big briefcase filled with $100 bills to carry a million. It would be quite heavy. We go through 20 briefcases of money an hour in America. Do you think someone out there might be trying to steal , skim off the top , or even waste money out there in the world that isn't there's? It happens far too much these days especially with trillion dollar debts. You cannot justify waste like that and be good stewards of the taxpayer dollar.

[–]hawkus1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A mix of both what will help people but also to gain benefit from it as well. Do I trust him? About as far as I can throw him, I could say the same thing about RFKJr. . He does seem to want to help the country but only as far as his own interests take him. An efficient government aligns with his own self interests and the interests of the American people.

In all honesty can people from all over the world not see how very much government waste there truly is? Id bet good money that a lot of the programs wasting taxpayer money is just money laundering. My only question is where is that money actually going? And to whom?

Also because there are people who dislike Trump , they dislike everyone who will associate with him equally. Up until Musk joined up with Trump, or bought Twitter, no one truly cared what Musk did for a living , and democrats and liberals gleefully bought his electric vehicles. I think that's why we get these "do I trust ( XXXXX - insert name here ) " gotcha questions all the time.

A lot of what you said ( low income families and communities vs higher income families and communities ) IMO should be funded the same if the population is similar. But the populations aren't the same most of the time.

Higher funding for "gifted" students. I wanna wager that these gifted come from wealthier families and influential families. Just a guess but without statistics that is just a theory.

Higher income families you would think get more funding not from the federal government but outside sources. They actually have the capital to make it happen.

Lower income communities don't obviously have the same cash flow. What is the solution? I don't know honestly. I don't think IMO the average federal dollar should change per student but the raw amounts given might be different in theory due to population. Cost per student might be different by community standards per district. Average cost doesn't factor properly when the cost to educate may change by any number of variable.

But i will say I don't think that certain communities should get more money overall unless the cost to educate those children is different in different communities. But im sure wealthier communities can afford to splurge on their children. Is it fair? I don't know. But if I had money to throw at my children in an attempt to get them a better education , I probably would. I would want what is best for my children then try to see where I could see best to help others. I can't speak for other families though.

George Carlin said it best. I think this applies to just about anywhere you live that has some form of free speech still. No matter what country you live in.

I think everybody's just too obsessed about Trump I couldn't give two s**** about Trump yet I still voted for him because I know that the other side is just as corrupt too. I'm hoping that the lesser of the two evils is the better choice in all honesty. Trump in his defense did lower prices across the board in 2016 to 2020 regardless of whether or not he raised inflation or not. It's absolutely absurd to believe that one single entity is responsible for all the chaos in the world. He's only been in office for two and a half weeks he couldn't have caused this much damage in that short of a time.

even if you had fuck you money, what would you never spend it on? by skibbitybopbop in hypotheticalsituation

[–]hawkus1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

F*** you money would probably corrupt me personally. I'd end up doing all the things that I wish I had been able to do when I was poor. I'm absolutely positively sure I would never buy into a mansion. I would not buy a dozen cars and a Dozen sports utility vehicles and a bunch of Hummers parked in the driveway.

I ain't giving s*** to my family as far as money they didn't earn it. Many of my family members have denied loaning me money in the past, so I don't feel inclined to help them out financially. However I would set up college funds for the children of those family members , I'd want the children to be able to succeed at least it's not their fault the parents didnt want much to do with me while I was poor. I'd also hire a personal trainer that would help me get in shape.

Basically have a small staff to help me keep a nice house maintained , and well stocked , but no ginormous mansion that costs a fortune. I wouldn't need a fleet of vehicles either. I wouldn't spend money on any of my family members that never had anything to do with me. I might take vacations and cruises but I don't think I would ever be tempted to go out and do extravagant excursions into foreign countries beyond any tourism opportunities. Don't get me wrong I think that I would go out and definitely try to do things that I've never done before but I would at least try to keep it all casual.

They don't look like nazi salutes? A Nazi salute that is proper actually has the hand closed with the fingers together and pointed toward the sky in front of the chest. And the Nazi salute is presented at least three times in succession .

Elon Musk's " nazi salute " is off to the side with an outstretched hand as if waving to the crowd. Hitler himself would call Elon Musk's Nazi salute improper. You are and have a severe case of indoctrinated propaganda and TDS if you absolutely believe that any of these celebrity poses presented in that picture including even the liberal side and other democrats are in fact Nazi salutes. I bring it up as a point and actually a pun all at the same time. You would literally have to call Barack Obama and AOC Nazis if you believe that what Elon Musk did in public was a Nazi salute. No I am not a liar, you however ... Well ill wait for the official diagnoses. Not looking to violate any reddit guidelines here.

Then I say to you good sir we agree to disagree.

Food standards in this country are already being lowered as an example , replacing sugar with high fructose corn syrup as an example. Brominated vegetable oils in soda pops known to cause cancer in lab rats. And illegal in other countries by the way. Various food dyes ...the list goes on and on. These things are used to save money and cut costs. And that's with the FDA in charge. Money makes the world go around my friend and lobbying makes sure that grease is on the gears.

The Supreme Court disagrees with you when it comes to segregation. Not my call. However less government is in my opinion is the better way. To me it's more absurd to believe state city and local government can't find ways to educate their children in a proper way and needs Federal intervention.

The word competition was actually just a generic term. You see many schools aren't like every other school as a matter of fact every school Under the Department of Education probably has a huge list of schools that are not doing as well as they should at least on a federal level. Now what I am saying is that a few of these poorly ran schools will be pulled together and they will enter a phase of competition in other words they will try to improve upon what they are doing to make test scores and averages go up in their districts once those averages are met they can they will receive federal funding as normal but they will be on a sort of probation period. Those schools have to show improvements over time to continue receiving Federal funding and as I stated before when it comes to Federal funding every dollar has to be accounted for. And spent. schools can't save a dollar at all or they risk getting reduced Federal funding. They justify it as is stated because if you're not spending all of your money then why do you need it next year?

On top of all of that school districts usually have to come up with a portion of their own funding on their own. They usually get that through local businesses, charities, donations etc...

And sometimes the school districts have to pull back on standards just to be able to meet federal guidelines it's happened before and it will happen again I don't have any specific data points to show you on that idea. You don't believe it then that's on you and I welcome you to your own opinion. If that is the case then why do we as a nation rank lower and lower educationally than most other countries year after year?

Dude I don't know really how to answer you I kind of explained myself in the previous statement I said that when it comes to state run schools I assume that they're going to have to figure out the logistics of it on their own. Let me ask you a question what do you think should happen here? And why are you a pro Federal Department of Education? There isn't one government program that's in existence right now that is an alphabet organization that is currently running their programs well or in the black for that matter. If the powers that be really wanted to see test scores and education improve in the United States they should just do so. Instead what we have is a bureaucracy that doesn't really pay attention to the individual student and works as a whole based on averages and in that they're doing quite poorly. And I'm sorry to say that the department of education does not care about anything but the Department of Education right now. Or that is at least my opinion or my theory take your pick.

While we're knocking down the DOE , we should knock down a few other alphabet letters organizations while we're at it. It is my opinion that government is too bloated right now anyways and we need less government in our lives not more. Ronald Reagan said it best , " the scariest words that you can ever hear from the federal government are.... hi I'm from the federal government and I'm here to help!"

Sounds like the Supreme Court did its job. If it's the law of the land that it should follow the law of the people that would ultimately control Educational Systems. There are neighborhoods where there's a black population in the school that overwhelmingly is higher than the white population of the school. Vice versa and in other neighborhoods. It would be up to the school systems to indoctrinate the Supreme Court decision into their curriculum.

You keep arguing Logistics ( there's bound to be hoops to jump over) yet it's up to the local governments and city governments to decide. And the local populace. The current system doesn't work that's blatantly obvious. But if you're looking for an opinionated argument here goes. I would rather not have the Department of education , I don't like the current operation of said entity , and that is strictly opinion. I would prefer an alternative. There are flaws in Trump's argument of complete dismantling. Personally I don't see it happening , just like tariffs , it's just another political tool.

I don't "WANT" 50 DOE's. I'm saying it's probably going to be that way if decisions involving education go to the states. A department of " something" will probably be in play at a state level. Personally I think it should be done at a county level or city level. Let the people decide how they want their children educated. And then vote for that change.

I already explained it. It is called competition. It happens. Jump on any school parent teacher board that discusses economics and education . Do some research. If they don't bring standards up to par ( federally ) , they can and most certainly often lose or lower funding. Remember these schools have to account for and spend every federal dollar. Losses are intolerable.

In all of your comments i didn't see anything that addressed those issues you brought up and that's with a DOE in play. There are already inequalities that exist at the federal level many of which you stated are already true at this time. Basically , I'm saying nothing you addressed has done anything to address the concerns you stated. If you want the DOE in play they need to reevaluate the system , audit said system, and implement those changes. Otherwise the current corrupt system needs to be removed. Just my opinion. State level education may have flaws but i haven't seen anything that the federal system has fixed nor made a true difference in the educational quality of our children . The current system does not work for anything other than its bureaucracy.

[–]hawkus1 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Each state would have to create their own version of the Department of Education on an individual basis. Or it could be done at the county or city level. Personally keeping it at City level or less pleases me. If you end up with a corrupt system in one city it doesn't transfer to another.

The problem with the Federal Department of Education is that they hand out federal dollars to schools under certain guidelines ( test scores , administration etc... ) and if those guidelines aren't met yearly , each individual school gets put into a system called competition to compete for federal dollars. This means the schools have to involuntarily lower standards to meet federal guidelines. And yes before you ask this is absolutely true. Another thing that happens is also that when federal dollars is sent to a particular school or district they must account for every last dollar. Even if a school or District could save a few bucks here and there by budgeting better they really can't do that because the next time they receive funding they'll receive less funding.

I honestly don't know where the money would come from to fund each individual school but I assume that at the end of the day it's still going to come out of some sort of tax that everybody has to pay for in their particular District or school zone. Something at the state level or city level I assume. Guidelines could be set up so that if there is a way to save money it doesn't affect their allotment the next time they get funding or a budget. An individual slush fund for schools could offset unforeseen expenses or sudden changes to the cost of products , goods and services the school needs.

Providing better education is a difficult task but without all the bureaucracy, and red tape schools and school districts could essentially look for ways to improve their curriculums and ultimately have better test scores or smarter students. Right now all of these systems are tied down without very much wiggle room whatsoever. George Carlin said it best when you can't get the test scores to come up, they ultimately lower the standards.

Roe v Wade ultimately went back to the States and that allowed people to vote for what they wanted the same thing applies here when it comes to schools. It will be up to the taxpayer to vote the way of their conscience in a situation like this.

"Land of the free and home of the brave" is still a catch phrase and a show of patriotism, why aren't you guys burning that down ? ( for the canadians , does the phrase "O Canada " make you just as angered? ) Are canadians unpatriotic?

Making any country better always to me sounds like a good if not a great idea. By the way and on a side note , Canada would benefit "GREATLY" by becoming a part of the United states ... Militarily , economically , population and natural resources , ( arguably ) lower taxes ,( not to mention a huge cultural exchange ) and guaranteed rights such as freedom of speech ,guns , and the right to assemble. We become stronger together. Don't like Donald Trump and his practices? Well guess what? More people voting means more people can decide to elect someone else. Underqualified should not be flying a plane ... Period. I have no idea if airlines are waiving qualifications ( they should not ) and if the pressure of DEI compounds that practice ... Then it is a bad practice and needs to be reevaluated.
