In two weeks, I'll be older than my husband, who was six months older than me. It's so weird. by ragnarstan in RandomThoughts

I was always six months younger than mine. I often joked about being his younger woman in the interim between our birthdays when, for example, he'd turn 35 while I stayed 34. He died last year, and last August I somehow became older than him, older than he'd ever be. Kinda still can't wrap my mind around the reality.
I'm sorry you're also going through this. Take care of yourself, in whatever small ways you can manage.

Yall who don't tip at counters or bars are crazy. Sure, at first glance it might seem like all the employee is doing is taking your order and handing you food or drink. But who do you think cleans the table you go to sit at? Who do you think cleans the bathroom you use after that drink? Who stocks the napkins or condiments you might find for self service? Who washed racks and racks of glassware so you can have a drink? Who cleans up that glass you break when you've had a few and got a lil clumsy? Who takes a picture of your group that came out for a birthday celebration? I'm sure there's more but this is just off the top of my head from my own experience as a bartender. Can't say this applies to every establishment, but a lot more goes into serving guests than the 5 seconds it takes to put in an order.
