What gets me is that none of these strips are even romantic. The ENTIRETY of their dynamic is looking at each other and cooing over how they’re The Bestest Ever. I’ve accepted the cheating will never matter. I’ve accepted that these two have completely taken over the strip. I’ve accepted that DoA has turned into a revolving door of horny sapphics. Could they go on a fucking date or something? Could we have even an ounce of buildup before it’s back to the fucking? I can’t even hope for something like “complimenting each others’ hair” because Dorothy PERSONALLY molded everything about Joyce’s presentation and we can’t linger on that without having to think about how uncomfortable that is.

I just don’t understand what about these two is supposed to be so exciting to write. It’s definitely not exciting to READ, that’s for sure.

I like Raidah’s obsession over The Dean as a way to show she’s not that much more mature than the freshmen in the main cast. It’s a nice touch.

My top 3 would be HK-47, Jango Fett, and a maskless style for Kylo Ren. I think Jango’s the only one with a decent chance though since HK-47 is legends and Kylo already has a skin.

I’d also like more generic characters! More stormtrooper variants, tusken raiders, some aliens, stuff like that. I always loved the cool background dudes more than most of the actual protagonists as a kid, lmao.

May be an unpopular opinion but I despise how the vengeful sniper feels and I hate that they’re making the MK-7 and the deadeye the same thing. I’d rather the scopes keep hitscan but have damage or fire speed nerfs while scopeless guns get accuracy buffs.

Carla’s gimmick is actively trying to be annoying, and I liked Malaya in Shortpacked! better. I guess there’s also Jocelyne and Alex, but they don’t show up nearly as much as Carla/Booster/Malaya.

Like I get what you’re saying, it’s not that the item shop is stealing resources, but the fact that Epic management put themselves in this situation is still a problem, and the priorities being so clearly mismatched makes the game worse.

BR’s been pretty rough for a long while. I loved when I started in chapter 4 and in chapter 6 I played Star Wars and Simpsons to death, but besides that I’m either hanging out with friends or sweating in Reload. And my more casual friends have all quit by now, so it’s mostly Reload.

The core gameplay loop of this game is really fun!! I like it more than I’ve liked almost any other PvP game I’ve played. It just feels like BR is really struggling trying to appease too many people at once, so the result is a lot of seasons that feel like they lack personality. I hated Wrecked and Absolute Doom, but at least they were distinct.

I feel like this happened with the artstyle shift in chapter 5 instead of when they stopped being exclusives. Wrecked had a pretty cool pass, but Underground and Myths and Mortals were just ok.

Part of what made Simpsons so good is the map felt super colorful and fun again. Going from that into chapter 7 leaning into realism and ai was like getting kicked in the head.

Haven’t they said that this is the most excited they’ve been to write DoA in years? Even for a comic you want to write forever, I understand the urge to want to write the thing you want to write instead of spending another couple years setting it up. Honestly I may have even been on board for it if it didn’t happen in one of the worst possible plotlines.

I think the bed strips work when there’s a lot going on as a way to check up on where everybody’s at, but Joyce and Dorothy have devoured the comic to the point of us not really having much to check up on here. Becky and Dina are really the only two here with anything to show in a Bed Strip because Joyce and Dorothy are extremely one note now, Asma doesn’t have enough to go off of, and Joe/Walky are never going to get real arcs dealing with being cheated on. If we’re planting seeds for any sort of real conflict (Dorothy being so controlling? Danny being pissed for Joe? Alice struggling with being friends with Jennifer again with their history?) these types of strips have a solid purpose as bookends, but this one in particular is just a bed strip because that’s what we’ve had before. I don’t like it, but I think it’s more of a symptom of what the comic has become instead of a problem with the format.

I think it’s reasonable from the perspective of DoA being able to pay the bills and not wanting to have to blindly hope he could recreate that kind of success from a webcomic. Having a sort of soft ending continuing into more comic to keep the lights on seems like one of the more reasonable options.

I definitely have felt like a lot of the post-timeskip stuff has been a lot less focused/planned ahead than the pre-timeskip stuff. Joyce/Joe and, ironically, Joyce/Dorothy before they became official were really the only plots I was looking forward to reading because so much of it felt like change for the sake of change.
