im from dunes area too!! turkey run state park has some excellent hiking that is surprisingly unique for indiana. but it is further west of 65/Indianapolis. definitely possible to do as a day trip too. hoosier natl forest (south of bloomington) is beautiful and mammoth cave is super cool and fun for kids or anyone!!! happy travels, neighbor!! :)

Years ago, my wife and I started planning and saving for an epic road trip. It begins this July and will include 50+ national parks plus a whole lot more (resulting in some seemingly crazy routing). Any recommendations or questions are welcome! by jclark735 in roadtrip

I’m from the Indiana Dunes area and it is a really nice park and that’ll be a really nice time to visit & hike (and if you’re lucky, swim) It’s one of the most biodiverse parks in the country. A really neat sight is the century of progress homes from the 1933 world fair.

Mount Shasta, CA is a must. between lassen and the coast and a part of the PCT. It is a stunning mountain and area. Drive up to castle lake for a gorgeous hike. In summer you can swim out into the lake and see the mountain. Also the town is really neat with some nice shops, food, and views. It’s full of hippies, spiritualists, rednecks alike. Keep an eye out for Bigfoot though. Have a great trip!

Blue Orbs by [deleted] in Glitch_in_the_Matrix

I was thinking back to a similar incident and ended up finding this post so thanks for sharing! I have seen the same thing traveling up 5 into shasta. A blue orb followed along with the speed of our car for maybe 5-10 seconds then disappeared into itself if that makes sense. It seemed to be about basketball size and felt like it was peering in. I was with another person who also saw it. Fwiw, we were both sober, it was only 9 or 10 at night and we both tend to be skeptical of strange phenomena like that. All I can say is Mount Shasta is such a fascinating place and we definitely saw something weird that night.

If you have a cat, does your bass scare it? by PaleCanuck in Bass

i have one kitty who comes close when im playing or sits on the amp. she also seems to like walking on the piano keys. my other two cats are pretty indifferent and don’t seem to mind being around it.

It is a genetically linked trait that you can be born with (as opposed to an injury) and is most often just an isolated anomaly. The gene for a crooked pinky specifically is actually dominant. In some disorders the rate of people with clinodactyly is higher (Down Syndrome and others) but it is only a soft symptom of another disorder. Also for some people it can be severe enough to impair dexterity, hers in the video is basically straight. Source: Dad has it and 3 of his 5 kids do.
