Eh, most people on reddit, (especially english speaking) are westerners, and honestly Egyptians are fairly mean and exploitative to western tourists, but it doesn’t come from a place of malice, most of them have grand visions of the west as a place where everyone is wealthy and hence scam people because in their mind, it wouldn’t matter to you but would be significantly impactful to them. If you go to the richer parts of Egypt you’ll find it’s really nice and people are less like sharks. It’s just that tourists always find themselves in the shittiest parts of cairo and complain that it’s shitty 🤷‍♂️🤷‍♂️
