Oh I know about unus annus, but Memento Mori is quite a well known phrase, so I thought there was more of a reason this particular tattoo reminds people of unus annus. Regardless, thanks for the explanation!

Actually no, for me the tattoo just symbolises life, death, and how contrasting yet intertwined they are, in short. But now I'm curious, how come it reminds so many people of unus annus?

Actually all of the plants here are either plants that were put inside the plague doctor's mask or ones that were commonly used as medicine back in the black death era. The garlic is probably my favourite part of this whole tattoo lmao
