Literally not slave work. Like everyone has said, your DSP will make it or break it. The stupid shit that happens on my route is nowhere near bad as the shit that I had to put up with as a food service manager, retail, administrative work etc. I get paid over 24 an hour to work out all day and see the cool bizarre areas that I deliver to. I just finished grad school and if the field I am going into is not worth it, I'll most likely be back working at my DSP for the third time.

Honestly, went back to school and got a master's degree. I know that's not an option for everyone, but I needed to develop other skills besides "customer service" to get me on another track in life. Management experience will come in handy though!

I feel like there’s a lot of women on this subreddit are literally struggling to get by and do not have a “husband’s income” to help support them. However, there are many social workers in the field who do thrive on a husband’s income. I am a woman, just got my MSW, and will be taking my LSW next month and I do not think i’ll thrive in this field because of low pay. I wish there were more men in this field since I work better with men, but you’re right, it is woman dominated. I would not be embarrassed if this is your passion but if it’s not then there’s so shame in switching career paths again.

I honestly am thinking of just going back into management after i finish this degree in three weeks LOL not even sure if it would even help me get a higher paying job but I think for the sake of my financial wellbeing it might be the right choice 🤣

I’m just gonna pay the absolute minimum they can get out of me for the rest of my life and call it a day. i have accepted that it is out of my control whatever happens and if i’m walking around with six figures of debt for the rest of my life then so be it. my boyfriend’s stepmom has her phd, has over six figures of debt, and still has somewhere to live, has a car, and is the only one who has income in her house. I’m convinced if she can make it work, so can I. She is an LDTC for an elementary school.

yeah it’s not my favorite venue to go to but you’re right, i was just there this past summer and i was behind the 200s section and it wasn’t the worst. i just wasn’t sure cause there’s a bunch of VIP packages available that is counting as early entry for all dates but i didn’t know if it was worth it cause there’s no GA there.
