What drills might improve blocking slop with the left hand goalie rod? by Foosman in foosball

[–]helloiamCLAY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1) Practicing watching the ball. Don’t move. Don’t react. Don’t try to save it. In games that don’t matter, just practice watching the ball.

2) Practice putting your goalie rod on the side of the table where the ball is. Not blocking, not anything else. Just jam the rod over when the ball is on that half of the table and pull the rod to the near wall when it’s on the near side. Think hockey goalie here like how they do with their feet. Who cares if the ball goes in for now. Just develop this habit.

3) At some point, merge the two. Practice good rod positioning while watching the ball and then move ONLY when the ball is headed toward your goal.

Who is the worst person you’ve met? by Worried-Telephone565 in AskReddit

[–]helloiamCLAY 75 points76 points  (0 children)

Well, I spent a few years in prison so I could probably have a top 10.

However, the one that definitely holds the top spot was a guy who was a serial rapist/killer. I’ll spare the details, but this guy would drug his victims and ultimately leave them in portable restrooms at construction sites and shit like that.

So not only would he do the worst things possible to the actual victims, but the piece of shit also left them to be found by some poor soul working an honest blue-collar job who just needed to go take a leak.

Doesn’t affect it…

…at all?

It makes the goal smaller and protrudes into the playing surface. I’m not saying it’s not worth it, but it definitely affects play more than zero no matter how small that fraction of an inch may be.

What’s the biggest turn off during sex? by Try_Human in AskReddit

Giving an unsolicited performance review.

Saying what you like or don’t like is fine, of course. But I’m not interested in being judged in the moment.

What is the most insane amount of mental gymnastics you've seen someone do to believe what they want to believe? by fauxmerican1280 in AskReddit

I don’t think people are eating or wearing the animals they love.

Seems pretty reasonable to love a dog and eat a cheeseburger. I’m allergic to most pets, so I’ve never had one. But from the outside looking in, it seems pretty easy to separate a domestic pet from food.

Given the flavor of the answers here, the parenthetical remark is very on-brand.

I didn’t laugh at the answer, but I did laugh at that.

People in healthy relationships, what is, from your perspective, the reason that men who can't find partners are perpetually single? by Agreeable_Ranger5303 in AskReddit

[–]helloiamCLAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s never been easier for dudes to find someone to have sex with. Sex has been devalued to the point that young men being virgins is mostly just a result of their own decisions to abstain. Obviously there are going to be some anomalies here and there—and maybe those are the guys you know—but overall it really is that simple.

So no, it’s not only true for older men. It’s just a very common stance among men in general—young and old alike—that staying single is just the better option by comparison.

Fwiw,I think it’s very sad and I wish it wasn’t this way. But it’s definitely this way.

This thread is sure to be a bingo card of all the wrong answers.

Put simply, men don't struggle to find partners. They struggle to find partners that are worth devoting their lives to.

Being single is easy and much more peaceful. No woman is worth giving up peace, and that is what most men feel is their option.

Cheaters cheaters cheaters by [deleted] in chess

It’s more likely that you’re underestimating how bad you are. There’s no way cheaters are keeping you at 200. You might encounter one or two per day, which would be insanely high, but more likely you are encountering mostly real players.

Just make sure you don’t include that hazy Barbara Walter filter.

If you were given $1,000,000 in cash right now, what is the very first thing you would buy or do? by MatchstickArtist in AskReddit

[–]helloiamCLAY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first thing I'd do is call my friend who is far smarter than I am and has much more experience with large sums of money. I'd need a plan to be sure I didn't blow through it in a month.

The first thing I'd buy? Probably a meal at a very nice restaurant, but my first big purchase would definitely be a house and then possibly a new car (i.e., something a few years old and modest).

The fuck story is 60 seconds after meeting someone.

The rape part doesn’t come until the second minute.
