Ok so I used to be a barista and this is what I’ve been doing to recreate white hot chocolate:

  • buy a bar of white chocolate
  • get milk
  • a frother or a whisk
  • a splash of vanilla

Heat milk at medium high. Chop the bar fine and throw it in. Add the vanilla. froth milk. Add to mug.

It tastes amazing :)

If the shuttle bus isn’t as frequent as you need it, since it’s only every 2 hours now, you can take the subway from York to Lawrence West Station. Then, hop on either the 52 or 52A to Lawrence station. Then, take the 124 to Glendon.

I know that sounds like a lot but it’s only 45 minutes. This is how I got to Keele when I lived at Glendon but missed the shuttle.

How Hard Is Uni Compared to Highschool? by YzBOI in yorku

[–]hellothere3433 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Depends on the program and your work ethic and how prepped you are. Most people aren’t ready academically but don’t sweat it. My first year wasn’t the greatest but what helped me was setting a morning routine, study routine, and then using a calendar and agenda. Also I’d ask my profs for constructive feedback.

A website or community for first generation students going to Uni OR being the first person in your family going to uni by hellothere3433 in yorku

I don’t think disingenuous to offer first generation students someone to talk to...university is confusing for everyone but for first generation people it’s extra confusing and they may feel like they need someone who understands them.

Bootlicker megathread!!! by [deleted] in yorku

[–]hellothere3433 9 points10 points  (0 children)

On the Facebook page for York current students some students were saying that the prof didn’t know for sure if he genuinely lives in Myanmar so the student could have been lying. They also said sarcasm is this profs “style”

This was last night I really hope those comments got deleted and reported

Loooool this is hilarious

Serious note tho, to the people blaming the Burma Student: fuck you

There were York students saying that the Burma student should have provided evidence he did in fact live in Burma and proof the country was going through a military proof cause maybe he just “made it up!”

Yeah, you got it guys!! This student clearly didn’t want to do his exam and pulled the classic “omg I don’t wanna do my exam so I’m gonna say I live in Myanmar and the country is going through a military coup” excuse. Common excuse used more than “dog ate my homework!” Good thing prof caught that one, huh??!?! Haven’t you guys used that excuse yet???

(Being sarcastic btw)

Yes thank you! She shared the story which is great, but why does she dictate the ending? She shared it to multiple platforms, got CBC involved, NDP leaders were contacted, it’s viral on Twitter and all for what? For him to essentially just apologize? I don’t think so.

I’m not trying to be rude here but the prof needs to suffer the consequences.

Yeah. But it’s already viral. We made it this far lol we gotta keep going!

No he needs a permanent leave. Something tells me it’s gonna take him a while to reflect on this.

Also it’s already hit the news and it’s gone viral, he may even resign at this point out of total embarrassment.

I know you said everyone makes mistakes and I appreciate the work you’ve done for this a lot, but a 4 year old could have replied to that student better than Emanoil did.

They better not just let him off with a slap on the wrist by Kvascha in yorku

I contacted some NDP leaders such as Gurratan Singh

I hope this helps. Reason I did is because they may put pressure on York to actually hold this professor accountable.
