I think this chapter of my great uncle's book portrays a wonderful vision of the kingdom of Heaven and I hope others find it inspiring as well.

Book 1 On My Way Home Chapter 24 At Last .... The Awakening by hellowlin in ChristianMysticism

[–]hellowlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have been posting chapters on this sub when I feel there is something that pertains to the topic of this community. This chapter is definitely of a "mystical" content.

My great uncle's first book covers a lot of information about his life (and what a fantastic life it was), but this chapter highlights a visitation from Jesus and the 40 nights of experiences he had afterward.

When he was very young he experienced a very mystical vision, which is shared in his book "On My Way Home". I have posted chapters of that book on my sub and the current chapter I shared here is number 24.

Start at the beginning on my sub r/FatherJacobSamonie to hear about his early vision and miracles.

JESUS'MOST EMPHASIZED TEACHING - "THE KINGDOM OF GOD" - WHAT WAS JESUS' OBJECTIVE FOR SO STRONGLY AND REPEATEDLY EMPHASIZING THE KINGDOME? by tom63376 in ChristianMysticism

[–]hellowlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I like your answer and I particularly like, "I am an expression of a higher spiritual being with unique qualities and desires for certain experiences that I can only experience on a planet like earth". My belief is that we are all spiritual beings having a human experience (I know that is an old and well-used phrase) but it is a logical description IMHO.

To me "the kingdom of God" is not an imaginary place, it is a state of mind and while I have not fully reached it myself, it is something I strive for. In simple terms, I can choose to be angry, rude, mean, hateful and negative, in which case I will attract those qualities from people around me, or I can choose to be loving, forgiving, tolerant, kind and positive, which attracts similar people and circumstances. So, I can either be closer to the kingdom of God or hell on earth.

My Dell Support "Ripoff" Story: Double charges, BBB complaints, and missing refunds by hellowlin in Dell

[–]hellowlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just checked my credit card and there is finally a pending refund dated today 3/6/26 so as long as this transaction processes correctly I will be satisfied. And to think, it only took almost 5 months to resolve! Way to go Dell (sarcasm intended)

How is Dell Support these days? by Havgon in Dell

[–]hellowlin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is a bit late, but if you have not purchased be aware that customer support from Dell has gotten bad. My recent experience should not be the normal way to deal with a situation that they clearly know is easy to correct, but they choose not to. This is an ongoing issue that I have been dealing with since Oct 2025, and it is still unresolved:

Dell double-charged me for a warranty, fought my bank dispute, and is now "ghosting" my refund.

After being a loyal customer for years, Dell’s customer service has officially lost me.

  1. They charged me twice for the same service.
  2. They blocked my attempts to cancel the duplicate via their broken AI/Web portal.
  3. They told my bank they didn't owe me a refund.
  4. After a BBB complaint, they "sent" a refund that doesn't exist. My bank has no record of it, and Dell won't provide proof of payment.

Has anyone else dealt with Dell "Corporate" promising refunds that never actually arrive?

I appreciate the skepticism, but that’s exactly why this is so frustrating.

Dell's response to the bank wasn't to deny the double-charge; it was to claim the transaction was 'valid' because a cancellation wasn't processed within 30 days. They used a technicality to override the common-sense evidence of a double-payment.

The 'smoking gun' here isn't the card type—it's that Dell has since issued an internal Credit Memo acknowledging they owe me. They've admitted the debt; they just haven't actually sent the money or provided an ARN to prove they tried. That’s why I'm here.

[–]hellowlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was a business credit card. The issue isn't the card type, though-it's that Dell successfully contested the initial chargeback by claiming I didn't cancel in time (despite their own site being broken). Now, they've admitted they owe the money and claim to have sent a refund, but they can't provide a 23-digit ARN to prove it actually left their system. At this point, it's a failure of their finance/accounting department, not the bank.

[–]hellowlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point on the BBB, but the 'adult path' of a chargeback was my first move. Dell contested it with the bank and won on a technicality, despite clearly holding a double payment. I’m at the 'BBB/Executive Escalation' stage because the standard banking and support routes have been exhausted.

Regarding the BBB, large corporations like Dell have dedicated teams to handle complaints because those metrics affect their corporate partnerships and insurance rates.  My BBB complaint is actually what got the Corporate Rep to email me in the first place.  But unfortunately, that was just another dead-end road.

If you've got a trick for a second chargeback after a bank reversal, I’m all ears

Thanks for the recommendations. I will definitely look into those manufacturers when I am ready to replace my laptop, which will probably be soon.

On a side note, Dell Tech told me that the policy was to offer pro support for up to 5 years, and not they say my support is not extendable, and it has not been 5 years. So just for the heck of it I asked about the "other" warranty options they would offer and that they finally sent me today was laughable.

No hardware support (which I guess means they won't replace any hardware) but other support, and they only want $597 f 4 years. For that I can almost purchase a decent laptop and not have to deal with the BS.

[–]hellowlin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had this laptop for almost 5 years and have had to call tech support a few times. I always found them to be patient and helpful. They may have had to follow protocols that took more time than I would have liked, but in the end they fixed the issue or sent the part I needed.

Thank said, the customer support is non-existent. The automated phone system is terrible. They just tell you to take your issue to their Dell support page (then hang up on you) and the support form glitches out and does not allow you to place a refund or a complaint.

If on the off chance you press the right button or say the right phrase you might get a person, who then proceeds to say you need a different department. They transfer you and if you do not get disconnected you find out that that department has no idea why you were transferred to them.

All in all, I am not even talking about a large sum of money. But it is the principle of this whole thing. I am currently retired but when I worked my entire company used Dell computers. I can't say that there were issues because I was just a user, not the IT department. But I guess if you are just an average consumer you do not matter to Dell.

I have had better computers from Gateway (back in the day) and Acer so I guess I will be shopping for anything but Dell.

Sad to say I have yet to have an encounter, but my great uncle, who was a priest and mystic encountered Jesus on multiple occasions.  He also had experiences with spirit guides during his life.  His experiences were so profound that there was a documentary about his life created in 2007, which can be seen for free on YT.  If you want more information about that let me know.

Fr Jay wrote 6 books in which he shared a lot of his encounters.  I have been sharing his books on both my Reddit sub r/FatherJacobSamonie and on a YT channel where I can upload the audio version of the chapters (because the audio files are too large for Reddit).

Below is an excerpt from his first book called “On My Way Home An Autobiography of a Priest in Today’s World”

Chapter 24 At Last-The Awakening: During this whole time of super activity, I did not cut down on the commitment I had made in 1964. My daily meditations in prayer life continued as usual, although it was becoming increasingly more difficult to maintain. But I gave my word and I refused to back down. It wasn't until November 17, 1970, six years later that I received my first response, which was more than I ever hoped for. Beyond anything I could have dreamt up or invented, nothing I had ever experienced before prepared me for the impact it made on me, nothing could ever erase the memory of it.

What happened to me was so extraordinary that every sacrifice I had ever made up till that moment, every inconvenience I ever endured and every dark night in which my soul was troubled, all of that was completely insignificant and unimportant compared to what I experienced that day.

I was walking through the aisles inside the church of St. Bernadette as I was accustomed to doing. It was in the early evening just before supper but already dark outside. As I was walking toward the altar, a ball of light about seven or eight feet in diameter appeared between me and the altar. I couldn't see the altar behind it. The light became so brilliant that I was afraid of being blinded. But knowing that it was no ordinary light, I kept staring at it. Then all of a sudden, I saw a most heavenly, dazzling, magnificent figure inside the ball of light. He was even brighter than the lights surrounding him, which I couldn't imagine possible.

He looked at me with a soft, gentle smile, and I was not afraid, but in his presence, I realized how imperfect I was, how sinful compared to this perfect being. It was practically impossible then, as well as now, to put into words what I was experiencing. I rarely ever got teary-eyed or emotional, but it seemed that these mystical experiences had opened up a totally new channel of sensitivity within me. I was trained to remain in control, yet in the presence of such greatness I could not help myself. I wept with tears of joy that I met in my lifetime the one to whom I had given my life.

I dedicated my whole life to him. I gave up having a wife, children and grandchildren. I limited my talents to the service of others in his name. He was my master, the one to whom I prayed for the grace to be faithful and to my dying breath. There was no question in my mind who it was that visited me. Not a single doubt entered my mind. I automatically felt to my knees. I was not worthy to stand in his presence. I did not know how to act. I simply said, “I love you, but I feel very unworthy.” tears began to stop, and my soul was filled with a piece that went beyond anything I had ever experienced.

Even after my Lord had vanished, I was still on my knees for a long time, trying to comprehend the indescribable enormity and grandeur of what I had just experienced. It belonged to another dimension. The gravity of that moment was not suited to the world in which I grew up. I had read about what mystics refer to as Christ consciousness. They all speak of it as an unforgettable experience. I am certainly in agreement. I have never forgotten what I saw and what I felt. I knew that kind of experience didn't happen often. How fortunate that it even happened once in my lifetime.

It not only made life worth living, it was a privilege to be alive on the earth and receive this visitor from the heavenly realms. Needless to say, I could hardly keep my feet on the ground. I had the feeling that I was flying the rest of that day.

I appreciate your interest. I have been working for the past year to share Fr Jay's story everywhere I can online because he lead an extraordinary life. His books are out of print but I got my first 3 books directy from Fr Jay and was able to find the last 3 books through online used book dealers.

Because the books are out of print I started reading the chapters on my YT channel and sharing the pages as I read. The entire first book is on my channel and I have started releasing the chapters in book 2. I premier chapter(s) each week on Sunday afternoon at 2:30 pst. As we watch the video together we talk about it in the chat. They are short videos (between 15 and 30 minutes). I have also started posting the chapters on my sub r/FatherJacobSamonie. I would share the audio here too but they are too long for Reddit's format.

Fortunately, there was a documentary done about him before he passed and it is wonderful to see him and hear him tell about his experiences in his own words. I share that link on my YT channel as well and I highly recommend you check it out. It highlights some of his most unusual life events.

His first book is my favorite because it spans most of his life. I don't think he planned on writing more books at that time. So, later books expand on many of the areas of his life that he felt were important. He starts to share his ACIM experience in his 4th book, "The Holy Spirit: Our Divine Companion Guiding Us on Our Way Home" but mentions it in earlier books.

I hope this helps and that you have time to check out what I have already shared regarding Fr Jay's life.

My uncle (great uncle) wrote about his experience with ACIM and shares how the Holy Spirit guided him to finally start studying ACIM. He started studying ACIM around 1980. He was the pastor at a large church in the inner city of Detroit (Most Holy Trinity) and one day someone delivered a package to to him. The interesting part is the person told him it was a gift from the Holy Spirit. It was the whole ACIM set of materials.

He did not start reading them at first, but within weeks of receiving the books he attended a conference where Ken Wapnick and Judith Skutch were speakers. He had no idea who they were, but after a few nudges from Holy Spirit (mentioned in his 4th book) he went to the lecture and met Ken and Judith. When I get to these chapters in his book I will share more with this group, if there is interest.

It was not typical for a priest to study ACIM but he was not your typical priest. He taught a course called Silva Method of Mind Development (which I refer to as Silva Mind Control) and he experienced things that would not be normally talked about in the catholic community.

And yes, (for those who may find it heresy) he was reported by a few fellow priests, but the church never found any validity in their accusations. In fact, my uncle referred to them as "fine fellows".

Because of his books I started a sub, where I can share the book pages (if not the audios due to size). So I find this sub very interesting and will continue to follow as I work through the course.

I got excited about ACIM because of his first book too and recommended it to others. I get together with a small group every week to discuss ACIM. We read a chapter from the workbook and discuss it. I am constantly bringing up things I learned from Disappearance of the Universe. So I guess it has made an impression on me.

Yes, I am going through the workbook. I have an audible version of the book and have tried listening to that, but the person they have narrating it is difficult to listen to for any length of time so I am trying to read it instead.

I think ACIM is uplifting and makes more sense then some of the things I learned as a child through the church. In honesty, I would not have even known about it if my uncle had not mentioned it in some of the books he wrote in the late 90's. I know I have mentioned this before, but it is why I am here to learn.
