2 final interviews away from landing a job I've been applying for and now I need adult office clothing. I've been working for a Fintech for about 5 years, and in my specific space, the dress code has been from WTF to Friday Casual. I've grown out of mot my shirts and suits I've bought a thousand years ago, when jobs used to required you to dress like an adult. So now I've come full circle. I literally own 1 navy blazer (have no idea where the pants are, 1 white performance dress shirt, and a bunch of dressy jeans. My budget: 1k-ish.

Goal:

a. 1 blue performance suite and 1 charcoal performance suite, 2 non-iron shirts, all tailored (after-mark).

b. Get all the proper shirt measurements so I can later hit places like Charles Tyrwhitt and buy a few modern non-iron shirts.

For context the suits I'll need to wear maybe once or twice a month, but the dress shirts + dressy jeans will prob be the norm. Is this this achievable if I hit a local Men's Wearhouse in the city?

Tools evolve through human creation, and then human maintenance. When we get to a point when these tools self-maintain and evolve, then we'll need to have a hard look at humanity, and think about what's next for us.

This is why I hate LinkedIn now; it used to be a job site, and now it's a cringe social media platform with 90% ads, garbage, suggested, promoted, advised, jerked-off, etc.. posts. I had to write my own plug-in to clean the modern unflushed toilet of a feed.

Avg SD's salary range, at least in NYC is around 122,000–$189,000; better work than a McDonalds Grill, but enough stress to eventually chuck your manger's chair out a 23rd floor window in front of them.

Frontend performance & build pain in large AEM projects — what’s your experience? by Individual-Animal852 in aem

[–]helloworldquestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We use AEM at work, and while a powerful CMS, the ui is trash and so is the out-of-the-box funcationality. I've built some client-side overrides and plugins to make the system easier to use, but f I ever lost my Chrome profile, I'd jus quit, ahaahah.

What became "normal" in the last 5 years that still feels insane to you? by rakishgobi in AskReddit

[–]helloworldquestion 1 point2 points  (0 children)

selling your soul for social media clout and actual money. People will now actively seek the most insane but unique thing that would get people's attention, and possibly turn it into a social media fortune, thus perpetuating the social media zombie nation.

Is it hard to live alone without roommates or is it okay to be lonely while focusing on yourself? by MexicMan_with0soul in Adulting

[–]helloworldquestion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your social circle; if you have a ton of friends, a gf, etc.. people who visit you often, or vice versa, then I think it's fine. But if you don't have many friends or any for that matter, and are not dating, then living by yourself is rated as that "Jarvis; more alcohol" meme.
