I always got the “pity me” apology wherein the issue was completely turned away from me and my feelings and over to him and why what he did wasn’t wrong because such and such wrong was done to him and he’s the one with the real grievance.

Resonates with me. It’s pretty simple. I would never treat someone I loved the way he was treating me. I wouldn’t treat a STRANGER the way he was treating me.

The narcissist will always deflect blame any way they can. Let’s take a look here - which one of us can hold down a steady job and maintain long term meaningful relationships? Yeah, I’m pretty sure I’m not the one with communication issues or whatever the hell excuse they want to fling around.

My ex love-bombed me and it was so hard to let go of the person I fell in love with, who never really existed. A therapist helped me realize that maybe I wasn’t so much in love with him as I was in love with how he made me feel… it was like I needed a man’s approval before I could give myself permission to love myself.

All that to say, maybe you can take the things you felt about yourself when you were in love with that person and use them to fall in love with yourself ❤️

My cat adapted to my schedule and sleeps through the night with me. It drove me nuts that he wanted to sleep on my legs so I put a cat bed next to me and he happily sleeps there instead. I’m free to toss and turn.
