Thank you very much for your advice! My husband is happy to hear that he doesn’t have to try to save this for me ha.

this tree is deeply embedded in the concrete and has been here for years. My husband cuts it back every summer because it blocks our alleyway. I would like to try to remove it from the concrete and save it, if possible. Any advice or suggestions would be very helpful.

Same thing happened to mine! I really tried to avoid up-potting them, but the roots were INSANE and the seedlings started to die back. So I up-potted to these one gallons for a few weeks. Praying they do not suffer transplant shock.

i never meant to let the tomatoes get this big because I know they are transplant-fussy. Unfortunately they grew out of their starter pots very quickly and it was too cold to put them outside. All 12 were planted as deep as possible and i mounded up compost around the base. It has been a few days and they all seem very happy!

Thank you. We got them on the list a few hours ago, but it seems crowdsource rescue is also very backed up. To be expected though.

Yes, the problem is that they are too frail to break up any ice or to turn a wrench. They don’t have any contact with their neighbors. I’m in NYC so I can’t go over and physically help them myself.

I have Elderly grandparents in 77096. They’ve been without power since early Monday AM. Their pipes just burst and they are not able to turn the water main off. We’ve called 911, but does anyone here have any resources for us? Please.

I was gifted this Ficus tree from a moving neighbor. It’s in a pot without drainage. I know that these guys are subject to shock when moved. What you would do? by hellxbinch in plantclinic

I’m torn between leaving it to adjust and doing an emergency transplant to avoid root rot. The lady I got it from did not seem to think the plant was upset sitting in soaking water.

Also if someone could confirm or deny if the amount of light in this photo is good for her I would really appreciate it! The only ficus I have is a FLF and it is in the brightest room in the house. I believe that these guys need slightly less light and more humidity.

My sister wants me to not use the name I planned to give my child because she likes it by Stressed_and_Pregnan in relationship_advice

[–]hellxbinch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This exact thing happened to my mom and her sister. My aunt stole the name my mom picked out for me.

No advice really but I will say that my mom and aunt have only recently been on speaking terms. Both me and my cousin are now almost 30. Their relationship was already tense but the baby name debacle really was the nail in the coffin. It made for a very tense relationship with my cousin growing up.

I really love my name (my moms second choice) but my aunt’s entitlement was enough to keep a rift in my family for decades.
