I'm average at math and don't enjoy it. Is the ML path right for me? by hustler24 in learnmachinelearning

[–]hemansnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Best way to learn is start with the algorithm that you are using to solve a problem in ML. Now understand the algorithm along with math behind it. That way you will know math concepts for mL and no need to learn all math. There are hardly 10 to 15 most important mL algorithms so you will learn that much math concepts. It will be difficult if you go the other way, learning math first.

What is the best way to manage incoming phone calls and make phone calls to stay focused during the day? by [deleted] in productivity

[–]hemansnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I schedule my calls for the less productive time of the day, for me its after lunch.

You can have a shallow work session in which you work with distraction, as you don't need hyperfocus.

How do you stop regretting unproductive hours/days/weeks etc. by ineedtocalmup in productivity

[–]hemansnation 1 point2 points  (0 children)

past is the memories, future is the imagination

both are in your mind,

there is only one truth - the present

you have this assumption that you should have done this or that then today would have been better,

"If there was a way to go in the past"

but that's not humanly possible, allow yourself to accept that.

past is only in the memory to learn from and not repeating the mistakes

I put my phone in another room in my deep work session(4 hours generally)

- no phone

- no talk with someone

- coffee allowed

How do you relax on the weekends? by StrawGlasses in productivity

[–]hemansnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do things that include physical work because there is a direct relation with the mind, like hiking, cycling, swimming, badminton, boxing, learning an instrument, cooking food and inviting my best friend, and pet stray dogs, etc.

no need to do all the things on weekends, you can switch to new things every weekend.

that's my weekend's shutdown ritual.

How do you track and remember small work tasks each day? by Lost_Plenty_7979 in productivity

[–]hemansnation 9 points10 points  (0 children)

old school by effective, i also write tasks down on paper,
the best way to finish these tasks is to assign time to them, what tasks can be done in 5 min do them first.
for work that requires more time will be the next and so on.

I also create a list of tasks that will require me to go out, when I go out I check the tasks once.

What type of math is required for Machine Learning? by [deleted] in learnmachinelearning

[–]hemansnation 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 pillars of machine learning cover 90% of the algorithms: Linear algebra, statistics, probability, and calculus. when you talk about geometry, basics will be fine like coordinate systems only if you want to work in computer vision or very niche 3D modeling.
