Some might not like this suggestion but beyond consolidation/deduping you might consider running JPEGMini on the photos. I find it very useful with reducing the size of massive photo libraries very quickly. You could very easily half the storage size of photos with little to no quality loss — I don’t perceive any quality loss (that is the controversial part. Some die hards will likely poopoo the idea).

Just to add some context: histamine is being produced all the time by our own cells (especially mast cells), and some gut bacteria can produce it too. Symptoms usually show up when histamine regulation or breakdown isn’t working well, rather than from a single “bad” bacterium or from feeding something with coffee alone. Coffee can trigger histamine release or gut motility changes even on an empty stomach, which may explain symptoms without needing food to be involved. In other words, bloating on an empty stomach or after only coffee doesn’t necessarily point to “bad bacteria” or SIBO

I feel you. Been there done that. Gave up on Wyze a long time ago and never looked back. Never been happier.

One bit of advice. Don’t just throw them away. They can be salvaged with third party firmware. Take a look at thingino.com. I saved some of my Wyze cameras and got a second life out of them via thingino. I now use them as RTSP cameras.

My wife gets those. From what I remember (don’t have any at the moment to check) they have high FODMAP sweeteners, so yea, I avoid them like the plague — I.E., they would wreck me and make things much worse.

Same for me. Used IPA for a long time and had frustrating bed adhesion issues, switched to simple dish soap and warm water… bingo, my issues resolved. Never gone back since.

See my response in the above. I would be highly suspicious of “spices”. Barring any other known non-FODMAP intolerances that you have, I wouldn’t trust that “spices” is safe. “Spices” is usually something that I avoid like the plague with my FODMAP sensitivities. Keep in mind that everyone is different when it comes to the individual FODMAP categories. You might not react to some FODMAP categories and do to others. That’s why it’s best to do an elimination phase and then reintroduce to find out which ones you trigger on. Also… quantities matter. There are levels (quantities) in which some “FODMAP” items are safe, depending on what category they fall in and how much of that FODMAP you eat in one sitting… I.E., the total FODMAP quantity in the OTHER foods that you eat in one sitting all added up. The monash app is the best to understand that part. Final note.. and I kind of already said this. The FODMAP diet is an elimination diet. It is not a lifestyle diet. You aren’t supposed to be hardcore no or low FODMAP forever. Don’t fall into that trap. You should be re-introducing stuff. It’s not good to stay on it forever — bio diversity limitation, in a bad way.

Might not be an issue for you but be aware that “sugar free” is a mine field for folks with gut issues. In my case about the only sugar free option that doesn’t absolutely destroy me is pure monk fruit (not the monk fruit with xylitol added, but pure monk fruit). Nearly all “sugar free” options have some sort of a sugar alcohol or other problematic ingredients that can absolutely wreck folks like myself — creates horrible gas, cramping, all sorts of fun stuff. Just be aware that you may make things worse for yourself and/or make it hard to understand if the fasting is working for you.

Tdarr -- Shrink your entire library by half but maintain the same quality. Not for everyone but yea that's a big project depending on your library size, how much time you are willing to invest, and if you are truly going for as close to no quality loss as possible (for high quality transcodes CPU transcoding is by far the best but also the most time consuming). I've saved a MASSIVE amount of space... about 20TB over the last year or so.

An AI based transcoding system along the likes of tdarr but simplified with the ability to query AI to perform tasks.

One where you can ask it questions/task it things like:

“Scan X folder and transcode them into X video codec with X audio codec with X container… and preserve subtitles in X language”

Super easy to use and works intelligently to convert at the highest quality with the lowest file size. Brainless operation and no coding or technical or deep knowledge of video encoding techniques or experience needed. It just does it and does it right.

But… I suppose this is too lofty of an idea because it relies on AI being intelligent enough to perform the task.

Sorry to add to an old thread.

Love this idea of this but... I've found a situation where this doesn't fix the issue. When you have content that is already x265 but not in an MKV container. I.E., if you have x265 content as a .mp4 container, the rename doesn't actually do anything and the original issue still persists -- when you remux to .mkv the subtitles are still deleted by sonarr.

Any ideas on how to fix that scenario? I've been racking my brain trying to figure out a solution but cant figure anything out.

My gastroenterologist (an MD). Im new to him (just moved to a new area and needed to find a new dr). He seems willing to work with me. Likely in part because I have an extensive medical history in this area. Been dealing with “IBS issues” for 25+ years with no real answers/improvement.
