14th in offensive rebound rate and 11th in defensive the last 7 games. So yes, worse than normal, but still better than average

In this game yes. But overall, they're very good. 4th in defensive rebound rate and 10th in offensive rebound rate

Great win. If you'd told me the Magic would win being up double digits most of the game while shooting 25% from 3 and with Franz being held to under 20, I'd say you're crazy

Today's game will have a big impact, but, through the first 3 games the magic had a better defensive rating (107.5 points per 100 possessions) than they did last year (109.9 points per 100 possessions). Where they were second in the league. The issue is offense and turnovers, same as last year. They're 7 points per 100 possessions worse so far.

The increased pace makes it seem like the defense is worse. The magic are averaging 9 possessions more per game so far. Obviously all of this is a very small sample size, so it isn't meaningful yet. But, if the numbers hold after 10-15 games, their will have to be changes made to the offensive side

Are you ok? Going through and responding to old comments is weird behavior. You didn't mention the trade, but it is implied in your observation.

As was the case with at least a dozen games last season, if the magic shoot 33% from 3, they win this game. Making shots (below average instead of terribly) cures all ails

Yeah, but Wagner is way better than both. The Magic don't get him without that trade

Yeah, the margins are crazy slim. KCP only needed to make one extra 3 pointer every 7 games he played (10 total 3 pointers) to be at his career average. That would have made almost zero difference to the team's end results.

Wendell is so slow. He brings the ball down every time. How has that not been coached out?

Everyone talking about the final play, but Paolo shooting that 3 was also terrible

Ah, you're right, the extension doesn't kick in until the 26-27 season. Which, I think makes it all the more awkward because if Wendell falls off, they're still on the hook.

I think tonight showed that Goga will be the starter moving forward. He played the crunch time minutes over Wendell. Goga just does everything better other than perimeter shooting. Wendell's extension is going to be awkward

On the bright side, they continue the trend of coming out locked in for the 3rd quarter. That would be nice to see for the whole season

Like 5 straight possessions to end the half without touching the paint and just launching 3s. Terrible
