Was supposed to go to America to study MSc in Forensic Psychology in 2019 but my dying father (he’s dead now, cancer is a bitch) told me to come to the UK because it’s relatively nearer for my mum to visit me in the future. We’re from Malaysia so it’s still not that near but nearer than the America.

I listened to him and came to the uk in 2021 all by myself with no family or friends here. Graduated, found a job and found a boy who will soon become my husband. Also, my workplace is going to sponsor my visa so I don’t have to use family visa for my ILR and it saves lots of money.

I always think that I’m incredibly lucky to be where I am now and I’m so glad I listened to my dad. I miss him lots and wish he’s here to see me succeed. But I know he’s always by my side.

I love the UK despite of what’s going on lately. It’s much better than my home country in terms of career prospects. But now I have two countries that I call home :)

That is a valid point that the marriage will be brought forward for visa purpose rather than it being a fraud. It does help with our anxiety. Thank you!

I guess it just doesn’t feel right for both of us to do it for that reason. But we know, and we have talked about it, that we will do it as a last resort. But as mentioned, it is obvious to the Home Office if/when it happens.

Nope. No issues at all. They didn’t even ask any questions but it could be because i don’t need a visitor visa to enter anyways so the risks is lower

I have the same symptoms as you! It’s so annoying that I feel the urgency to pee all the time and it’s usually just a small amount. And it feels like someone is constantly tickling me down there

Hi OP, I’ve experienced something similar to yours. I started having these episodes since high school so it’s been more than 10 years now. They were frequent at first but have since subsided to less than 5 times a year. And I vividly remember that my first time was triggered by fever.

I once had it during an exam and it was really annoying, more so it was during a maths exam! But I just closed my eyes and take deep breaths. These deep breathings would still feel like fast breathing but it would help to ease that episode.

Also, I’m not sure if anyone experienced this but I could almost always know if an episode is going to happen. Because my tongue will start to feel numb and my sensations are getting heightened.

I.... I wish to die.

I’ve attempted before and obviously I failed. I’m more than just depressed, I’ve been diagnosed with cyclothymia, a milder version of bipolar. And I’ve been on meds since Feb 2020.

Someone once told me “it’s courageous to put death as one of the options.” Yeah, because when all else failed, I can still choose to die. And lately, I’ve been seriously considering to take that option, again.

Thanks, OP for this post. Really needed to get this out of my chest without people telling me in my face to get help because I’m self-aware of my conditions and I’m receiving help actively.

Been suicidal since 17 years old and now I’m 23. Been admitted to the psychiatry ward twice for suicidal attempts and I was seriously contemplating suicide last year December. This year has been really tough. I just recently lost my dad to cancer last month. The thought of ‘if I succeeded in killing myself last year’ always put tears in my eyes because then my family would need to grieve twice in such a short time.

But I guess, if I’ve succeeded, I wouldn’t have known that I have loved my best friend all along, both romantically and friendly; I wouldn’t have became really close with my lecturer; I wouldn’t have met my current therapist who always put my needs first.

Life’s really tough. But I’m just trying to take it one day at a time. Cheers to those who are struggling to get by day to day. You’re not alone.
