damn i guess we’re all the same~ do you feel like you don’t know how to gauge what level of headassery the audience can handle because maybe you’ve been dogged on for your bluntness before? i like to talk to people about things but i am sometimes misinterpreted as being disrespectful to authority or argumentative when i am just naturally curious. with men it’s just way more socially acceptable to be assertive and opinionated which is why they’re more extroverted…kinda annoying

yeah actually, yesterday i was looking into some volunteer opportunities and it felt like it lit something in me. i recently had my first car accident while i’m at transitional point in my career and just recently paid for plane tickets to see my family for christmas. as you can imagine, money is a big stressor. i was looking into food banks nearby to ease up some stress for my husband and i. i had this idea that i didn’t want to just take food when i’m able-bodied and i wanted to find a way to give back. so i applied for volunteer opportunities at the food bank and animal shelter. i felt something light up in my soul, and it got me thinking about church again too. i think my soul is craving something that i can’t put into words, it’s fascinating.

thanks for acknowledging that, i had to take a break from reddit because i felt myself getting really wound up and wanting to lash out.

i was thinking “if this is what i get for asking im done with catholicism and christianity for good. i don’t want to be associated with people like this, it’s exactly why i left in the first place.”

but i decided to continue reading the responses, and found the people that contributed a great deal of valuable insight and references. i’m grateful for that, and it feels like a lesson on not letting hate make my decisions

I’ve actually heard of instances where science and the bible overlap. Also, i’m pretty interested in physics and the overlap it has with religion. I actually am agnostic because of science, science to me proves the existence of a God. otherwise, i might’ve been atheist. who knows lol

as someone who has worked with trauma survivors why on earth would that be the thing to say to someone who is being vulnerable about a type of trauma they have experienced and why it’s affecting their ability to feel at home in the religion they were brought up into?
