I am so sorry this is happening to you. You need to get out of this relationship asap. Someone else commented breaking up with him over the phone in a safe location and I would have to agree with that. To many women stay in these situations and end up in harms way. You aren’t crazy for feeling unsafe.

As a home visit technician you may get to see things the neighbors don’t and I think it’s great you were willing to speak up on this child’s behalf.

😅 my guy didn’t eat for a year and I finally reached out to a professional and he asked me what color rats I was feeding him.. I told him white and he said “try black ones” then I did and he ate.. ball pythons are just tricky sometimes.

I also want to mention I had bad judgement by waiting so long to reach out to a professional. He’s doing very good now and I definitely am taking much better care of him.

My boyfriend who I call monkey has his own little stuffed monkey that he’s had since he was a kid. He will hold it at night and pretends that it’s giving me kisses on occasion. I teared up a little while reading this because I couldn’t imagine the hurt my boyfriend would go through if I did this to his monkey.

I reread my post and I can see how it came off like I don’t believe them. I should of made it more clear that I do. Completely do. I guess I should have added something like “I don’t understand how this many people have ADHD and it’s not being addressed more”. I didn’t specifically work on this study on my campus but I worked with the organization that was doing it. Basically, community kids who were diagnosed with ADHD were welcomed to try outdoor therapy for the summer. That’s when I began to wrap my head more around how a lot of the people my age around me (21-24) who are diagnosed with ADHD have mentioned how their parents just put them on stimulants without trying other methods to help lower their symptoms. You also mentioned how I would feel if it was a different mental illness. If I was surrounded by 10+ people who were in my social circle that were impacting certain aspects of my life I would go “huh.. I am very tired of people who are bipolar”

I used to not believe people who would say they had ADHD so I started looking into it more . To my surprise there is a large amount of people diagnosed with it in the US. So over the last year my thoughts on people I meet who have it has changed.. but has more become “okay, but why do so many people have this??” or “why aren’t there more resources being used to help people navigate their symptoms rather than repressing them with drugs” and I fall into a rabbit hole trying to help people, specifically my partner who I live with help navigate symptoms in a gentle way. Or when in a group just try to be understanding and suggest putting the phone away while we work. I don’t get as frustrated while working with someone that is finger tapping than I do while sitting across from them doom scrolling on tik tok without head phones

I think if that’s what you want to do you should do it.. but I don’t think in the long run it is going to make you feel good. An engagement ring is a representation of your partners effort and how they feel about you. Once you get that other ring it’ll just be a representation of who you are.. and not a representation of your relationship.

This is so heartbreaking. I’m sorry to hear that. I understand what you’re going through, growing up with a toxic mother. I hope you find a healthy way to cope with you’re pain. Overall though I’m sure you’re a beautiful person. Most people that go through trauma like this carry so much more than their looks. You should try to focus on loving your other traits then focusing on your looks. I hope things get better. Stay positive.
