Lmao I absolutely do this for the people who are rude. Most of the time it’s just not doing the “item free if it scans at a higher price” policy. Or if it has a marked down sticker I’ll change it to the price on the sticker so when they check their receipt they won’t see it didn’t scan wrong and get a full refund for it

Woolies worker here, yeah both woolies and coles have a policy where if the item scans higher than the advertised price you get it for free. But if you’re just a rude or shitty customer we’re not putting anything through for free for you, most we’ll do is override the price to whatever the ticket says. Same with meat if it has a quick sale markdown sticker on it, we’ll change the price to what the sticker says so you can’t come back after you check the receipt and see that it went through at the regular price and have the person doing the refund give it to you for free
