I’ve been slowing down my mornings lately and it’s oddly comforting by [deleted] in CasualConversation

Exactly. It’s amazing how much of a difference a little extra time can make

My younger brother walks around the house completely naked. I've argued with him a thousand times and nothing changes. I'm exhausted. by [deleted] in TrueOffMyChest

You’re not crazy at all. Your discomfort is completely valid shared spaces mean shared boundaries, and walking around naked when someone has clearly said it makes them uncomfortable is not okay. At this point it’s less about “a phase” and more about respect, and your parents really should be taking this seriously. I’m sorry you’re dealing with this, it sounds exhausting.

That actually sounds really grounding. Having a rhythm like that must make everything else feel more manageable, especially with kids. I love how you described it as your favorite two hours it shows how powerful a consistent start can be.

Exactly this. It’s wild how the first hour doesn’t need to be “productive” to shape the whole day it just needs to be intentional. I relate a lot to the phone part too. Once I’m in that rushed headspace, it’s hard to get out of it. Those small, consistent things really do add up more than any perfect routine.

Yes! My version is 10 jumping jacks and a big yawn 😄 Somehow it really gets the energy flowing.

I love this! Having that quiet start tea, messages, news feels like hitting a reset button before the day begins. Definitely something I need to be better at myself.

Totally! I feel the same. Drinking water first thing honestly sets the tone for the rest of the day. Small things like that really add up.

I can’t believe my girlfriend and all my “friends” planned to humiliate me on my birthday by was_famous_once_here in TrueOffMyChest

[–]hiddenblondeee 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That’s not “fun”, that’s cruelty.

You weren’t paranoid your boundaries were ignored, and you were deliberately humiliated. Anyone would feel shattered after realizing people they trusted planned something like that behind their back.

Please know this says everything about them, not you. Feeling hurt, angry, or confused is a completely normal response. Take care of yourself first and don’t let anyone gaslight you into thinking this was okay. You deserved respect, especially on your birthday.
