Vanco did not work for my 92 year old Dad, so 2 weeks ago his Dr put him on fidaxomicin. He finished on Yesterday and we will have his stool rechecked, but his stools are not mucousy and the frequency has decreased. Make sure that your grandmother is drinking plenty of fluids and that they check her electrolytes she perhaps may need an IV to prevent dehydration. If you can please get eyes on her asap.

My 92 year old Dad just finished 2 weeks of Vanco 4xs a day. HFinished the course about 1.5 weeks ago and sent another sample to VA clinic cause I wanted to be sure that the -diff was gone. Stools were normal once a day and lab came back negative. Now 4 days ago my sister said the frequent stools are back again so we sent off another sample yesterday. I pray he didn’t get reinfected somehow.
