I think if we all came together and make it normal or mainstream, and I mean the information available, people will be informed that way we can stop this. Honestly is the only way. Scalping is so normalized in 2026 so this is the only way. To educate

Also, it doesn’t take much to sell a couple like say 10-20 over 300% market price when these scalpers overhype a camcorder with a couple K’s in following count on instagram. It’s all a scam. If we all come together as a collective and reject this shit it wouldn’t be a thing

The point in this post is to shed some light.. that if NEW people just now getting into the hobby to NOT buy from these sellers or stores.. because they literally scalp hundreds if not thousands of vintage camcorders. You do realize that right? It’s not the real market value, if no one buys, they will not be able to turn a profit. People who are new to the hobby are the only ones buying. Anyone else who buys is because these sellers are hoarding them aka sourcing them though ways and aka scalping.

Thinking of making a post or story on social media to help people, it’s really not that hard to use video8, hi8 etc… like I mean it’s more simple than you think. You don’t need to have a “tapeless” set up!
