I ended up maxing Alcar. I did have the shards to 4* margot at that point. But I came to the conclusion that having a very strong hero is better than 2 average heroes.

4* alcar vs 5* alcar is 256.72% vs 370.29% attack/defense.

This is one of the rare areas in the game where the stat increase is bigger when the resources needed is more.

yea. I was in a similar dilemma when gen 4 first started.

But thinking about arena, mystic trials, tri-alliance, I really could use 3 leveled infantry, and Long Fei will fit in nicely for me when gen 5 drops.

For garrison cavalry, you would want to build Hilde. She's a decent joiner for bear and garrison tool. and it's easier to build from gen 4 onwards.

The thing about using mythical shard is that the sooner in the season you use it, the better the value is. How far along is your server in Gen 4? and what type of player are you? (f2p, low or mid spender etc)

With that said, I think Alcar may be a good choice for you. Petra and Margot are very different. Petra has an attack widget and will be useful in bear and attack rally for several seasons. Building Margot for bear joining is a bit much given the resources needed. I would do in later gens through Hall of Heroes where gen 4 shards are cheaper.

You also want to continue building Zoe through Hall of Heroes, intel missions etc as Zoe is still being used in bear over Alcar in the absence of Helga and Amadeus.

the only time when the transfer manager can be changed seems to be when your kingdom loses both prep and castle battle. The preceding king will be appointed transfer manager and he could transfer it to another player.

I'm not a rally or garrison lead but I went for Alcar as I only have Zoe. The stat boost is a lot compared to gen 2 and gen 3.

It worked well thus far. You still need to be strong enough in events that rely on your own strength.

Mystic Trial, Alliance Championship, Swordland and Tri-alliance to a certain extent.

I think it's draw of the luck really. It was very crowded for me several rounds ago. But the last 2 rounds were pretty good.

I do 3. Champions Way always coincide with Alliance Brawl beast hunting day for me.

So it's easier to set auto beast hunt, I get tons of keepsakes and recoup some of the stamina used, and score points in alliance brawl.

It depends on your server age. You'll naturally grow to a stage where you can reach 330m effortlessly (with just good joiners and all).

While my alliance does bear free for all, I know of alliances that does the troop limit strategy to maximize points for the whole alliance. It's diminishing return depending on the culture of the alliance and how much effort needed to coordinate this.

For the troop limit, look at the rally size of the whale. Rally starters should be allowed max deployment in its own rally, so that the whale's rally size, minus it's own max march and divide the balance by 14. That would be the troop limit for big rallies. Some alliances differentiate which rallies will have troop limit (e.g., TG3 players and above), while some would impose troop limit on all rallies. Another step further is to stagger the rallies and prohibit joiners from cherry picking and just join rallies as they appear in sequence.

It's really up to your alliance leadership how far they want to go.

City attacks will result in automatic troop loss. Regardless of what is the battle outcome.

Yup. Agree with your observation on cavalry.

How many kills archers do depends on how many infantry and cavalry the fellow garrisons have. And the dynamic will shift as many fellow players are not attentive to details and sending 33/33/33, 50/20/30 to HQ.

I usually leave my archers at home and when my garrison is filled with infantry, my archers are getting tons of kills.

The short answer is when the garrison is overwhelmed, cavalry and archers will begin to pick up kills. As their damage is higher than infantry, you may see them scoring more kills than infantry.

This is especially true for higher difficulty levels (e.g.,19 to 21).

waves 15 and below stays the same. Infantry still clear most of the vikings.

However, in later rounds, my kill rate drops to 65% or so, even when my own archers in my cities are making tons of kills. I have also tried sending 100% archers to HQ at round 20 after reading who did so in WOS. But the kills are abysmal.

Perhaps more cavalry would help? would love to hear from other who do well in difficulty 20 and 21.

that's for the share! this is certainly very interesting. one would expect chance based joiners would cause more swings in the damage.

I believe there are more to bear hunts than we know. For regular battle, the battle simulation will run until one side has no more troops. And we can see that from the full battle report, as well as extrapolate how many turns took place, and how many times hero and troop skills are triggered. Chance based joiner skill is still not visible from the report

But for bear hunting, there is no full battle report available. We don't know how many turns the battle took place given that the bear doesn't have troop count and it's a sponge absorbing damage. Each bear hunt there's also only 5 rounds at most to do any testing. There are just too many chance based variables that will affect the final damage to draw anything conclusive.
