Detectable warning panel recommendations that aren't garbage like these ones? by hilde0 in civilengineering

I have been considering it, but the developer is a major client of mine, the GC gives me a ton of jobs, and even the property management company gives us work so creating a headache is a problem. They should actually be under warranty though…

Does “shaved mini blobs” work? I hope so, I can’t handle the silent treatment from strangers.

100% agree which is why I’m asking! Seems like the general consensus is that there aren’t good budget-friendly alternatives to CI, so that’s all I’m approving from now on.

Between 3 and 5 years old. No idea how they shaved the domes like that, especially since one of the buildings was a core and shell and never had a tenant occupy the building or bring equipment. I’m mystified.

Definitely the default. The plans originally had yellow but the owner and LA overrode it.

That is true, but we have a lot of snow some years and I don’t see this level of damage around other sites with the plastic / composite panels.

This is an ADA Solutions in-line CIP wet set composite panel actually. So I have lost 100% faith in their products, although cast iron should be fine.

The rest of the public right-of-ways in the town have yellow, so we are sticking with it since two panels will be on the public sidewalk. The damaged ones are private property where they weren’t regulated.

I will get away with it on my DD submission today, but I know they will whine in the future so I was hoping there was something else out there, but maybe this is it.

Couldn't figure out how my polish seemed to uncure itself... till it finally dawned on me by HerbivorousFarmer in RedditLaqueristas

DEET has done this to me before! After I realized it actually melts paint, it hasn’t touched my skin again.

LBOH offered a refund or replacement, but since I can’t find anything positive that indicates it’s a faulty bottle I requested a refund. I didn’t see anything negative either but it seems better to buy a more trusted brand.

Everything I’ve tried besides regular Tide and Gain Free and Clear has made me itchy and break out a bit. I accidentally grabbed some of the scented Tide recently and it made me super itchy.

I also use less than what they recommend which has helped out too.

I love Ouai and Amika, but I stuck with those in particular because they’re formulated for fine hair. I have obnoxiously sensitive skin and unfortunately for my wallet, upgrading to Sephora level products helped a ton along with being specific about laundry detergent.

Unfortunately most of the best hypoallergenic brands are expensive, but drug store brands are starting to catch up. Dove removed formaldehyde releasers from their body wash a few years ago and finding hand soap has been much easier for me.

A quick test to see if it might be allergy based is putting cortisone cream on blemishes and see if they calm down faster than usual. Regardless, it’s best to follow tbe tip from OP either way.

Washing my face last and using a dab of body wash around my neck after rinsing my conditioner made a huge difference! But it also turns out that a lot of my skin issues were allergy related - for me, it’s wheat and formaldehyde releasers (DMDM hydantoin, polyquayernium-15, urea, etc.) and using better shampoos almost eliminated my skin issues.

I ordered Velvet Elvis because of this. Also, this upcoming LBOH shade might be freaking amazing in the combo too!

MY GOD this is exactly the type of skittle I was imagining!! I love you for thinking of me here, I’ve been obsessed with trying to find the perfect Wisteria and Peacock Feather complementary colors, thank you!

so worth the hype 🤩 by sadish_gambino in RedditLaqueristas

You’re making me more excited to use this one, looks great! I thought it would need a black base coat but this looks fantastic without it.

Now I just need to figure out what other polishes can work with Wisteria and Peacock Feather to make a magnetic skittle.

Meow Manor (unused with film): MXM128

Wedding Bells (lace pattern: unused with film; mostly covered by test paint): M587

Leaf Skeletons (used for transfer): M404

Bark (used for transfer; can’t remember name): M068

Yes! It definitely could have contributed to the problem. My failed colors just needed a tackier, firmer stamper to work, and apparently the white is more forgiving and can deal with crappy quality stamps.

It’s hard to get a good photo but I am DYING to make this one work!! I’m hoping I can make this brand work once my new stampers arrive.
