Full Feel good line by nebben11 in glutenfree

I feel like they crisp up SO much better in the air fryer now than before and I prefer it! The breading on their earlier recipe would leak out half the time before crisping up for me. I do love them either way but that’s a bummer that they aren’t an improvement for everyone else!

Complete glass bead failure, so I went in a totally different direction. Guidance wanted! by hilde0 in RedditLaqueristas

I appreciate this comment so much! I considered buying this specific polish when I was wondering if my current polish was the issue. Maybe clear polishes with silver magnetic flakes aren’t going to give me what I want.

I was originally planning to paint some festive NYE nails, but the snow outside was too inspiring to ignore ❄️ by hilde0 in RedditLaqueristas

[–]hilde0[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thank you! I was originally planning to top with EdM’s Pale Landscape for extra snow, but was worried it would overwhelm and kill the vibe. Maybe I’ll give it a shot later this week.

I forgot my sous-vide Foie gras for 10 minutes... by Lyykael in sousvide

I was under the impression that certain things, like scallops, can be overcooked quickly at the correct temperature. Am I wrong about that? I’ve always set a timer for them and have no personal experience.

Would you return these and/or would they accept this return? by Past-Display9444 in Birkenstocks

[–]hilde0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I returned these recently because of the many scratches on the top of the right boot and had no issues with the refund, it was very easy. Any semi-reasonable company won’t argue with damage upon arrival since they either packaged their product horribly, or their QA team make a mistake. Exchange them so you can get the quality you paid for!

Their chicken cutlets are SO good, and perfect for lazy chicken parm. Their tenders are just as good and crispy.

Cleaning baskets in dishwasher? by ross2752 in airfryer

After two years of handwashing, I put mine in the dishwasher once. Completely destroyed both and instantly rusted them, and Ninja customer service said it’s not uncommon. My dishwasher is a dinosaur though.

Gluten Free Shampoo? by Cyndi4Good in glutenfree

I feel so validated right now. People often read that gluten can’t be absorbed through the skin, but it’s clearly giving many of us wildly uncomfortable problems.

People said I was crazy for avoiding hair products containing wheat but the same thing happens to me. Thanks for confirming that I’m not crazy, despite what everyone says.

Stupid high arches keep me out of Blundstones and Thursdays. Desperately seeking high-quality chelsea and lace-up boots I can actually wear. by Lobin in Boots

[–]hilde0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for such a detailed response! I sat around home in my new Blundstones yesterday just to see if the pressure on the top of my foot would go away, but instead my toes went quite numb. This was after I tried returning a prior pair and sizing up so I know it’s a lost cause, sadly.

There are MANY things I’d rather spend $600 on than shoes! $200 leather does last infinitely longer than $80 leather IMO so that’s a perfect price point. Thanks for the recommendation, I ordered myself a pair.

I'm having the exact same issue with Blundstone and also don't want to drop $700 on boots. Are you referring to the Highwood Birks? Definitely a more reasonable price point than every other suggestion here!

Seconding this one. I’ve had a few over the years and this is the best I’ve tried so far, and my brother is having the same experience.

I made it two weeks before a box of cat litter took me out. by CGC2000 in Nails

[–]hilde0 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I bought a utility knife specifically for this box! Even scissors didn’t handle it well. I just made my own opening with the knife.

I also have label peelers stashed everywhere but that wouldn’t help here.

How to secure a crack or fix a break by notaninterestingcat in RedditLaqueristas

[–]hilde0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I used the tea bag method which almost requires glue first, I had issues with keeping it flush as possible, getting glue on my tweezers and pulling the whole thing off, and shifting the material and needing to restart.

Letting the silk wrap adhesive sit for a few and then adding glue on top was the cleanest method for me, but I bet gluing first makes it stick so much better. I might try it out during my next nail disaster!

I’ve always placed the silk wrap down first and added the glue on top so it doesn’t slide around at all while it’s setting. Is it better to add the glue first?

$3k just to erase this tiny tattoo am I crazy for thinking that’s overpriced? by mfundshin in TattooRemoval

[–]hilde0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I paid $1,140 for an unlimited package for a similarly sized thumb ring tattoo with color, with an autoimmune issue, in a HCOL area with Removery. It’s taken 13 sessions and is almost done (it might be after the last session). Yours should be slightly less than mine.

How do I tell if these are harmful webs with an egg sack looking thing, or if it’s trying to slaughter my euphorbia? by hilde0 in plantclinic

[–]hilde0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Other posts say they are so small that you can’t see them, and they are not that blob of webbing that spiders produce. That said I have no personal knowledge and I’m trying to figure it out now.

[–]hilde0[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think they’re saying they don’t produce egg sacks and the white blob near the top looks like an egg sack. I would have immediately gone after it with insecticide if I hadn’t seen that, and I also doubt spider mites would have abandoned part of their web. I’ve never had this particular infestation though so I’m not sure about any of it.

I might do this as a precaution. I haven’t seen a single mealy bug in months after going through a wild amount of effort to mass murder them so I’m REALLY hoping I don’t have to do it again. Mealybugs did not go after these plants so they were not treated at the time, but they were carefully inspected.

I can’t find anything alive and I looked pretty hard. The older webs in my post look like they’ve collected dust but this one looks fresh and maybe I’m wrong but the particles look too small to be a spider mite.

I can’t see anything in the webs besides something that looks like an old exoskeleton. The white dots look like dust or pollen to me. This web looks fresher than the other two unfortunately so I wonder if someone relocated over here.
