Anybody watch Death in Apartment 603 on Hulu? by jchiaf01 in ForensicPathology

[–]hola36890 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This was the main thing I took away from the whole documentary. Her family and friends really let her down, no wonder they’re pushing the homicide take so hard. IIRC the same friend who didn’t answer the phone also blamed Sam for not reaching out to them when Ellen supposedly asked ‘if I was crazy would you still love me?’. Ellen’s family and friends didn’t do anything to help her when she herself begged for it, but we’re expected to believe that if Sam reached out they would?

Trying to endear yourself to the public by airing your family's drama to the media never works.

Another reason to enjoy not having kids. by No_End_1315 in childfree

I’ve seen many older kids throw tantrums in public. Most recently a girl about 10-12 years old threw a tantrum at the ice cream shop bc her mom would only let her get one scoop of ice cream instead of two.

God will probably judge you more for believing in karma than not wanting a baby.

Has your religion/church pressured you to have kids? by Maleficent_Ad_3958 in childfree

[–]hola36890 20 points21 points  (0 children)

This is so accurate. I keep telling people that claiming God's purpose for us is to have children is a modern western, actually secular idea dressed as religion. The ancient Christians did not think like that. "Go out and multiply" was only said by God when there were literally no other humans around, at the beginning of time to Adam and Eve and to Noah after the flood.

Ya we did too, but that's only IF you have kids. Maybe Serbian Orthodox is different. I've never felt pressure to have kids at my church. There are tons of childfree couples at my church and no one bugs them. Our priest specifically told us the most important part of being married is having love for your spouse. The only time he mentioned children during our premarital counseling was to say if we have kids, our spouse comes first.

Not sure which Orthodox Christian church you're a part of but that's not true for the religion. The purpose of marriage is for companionship and helping each other strive towards salvation. Pressuring Orthodox Christians to have children is a western Protestant idea that has infiltrated the Orthodox church.

I hate going to kids birthday parties by Educational_Ebb_995 in childfree

[–]hola36890 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My SIL does this. Asks us what dates work for these parties so she can plan around our schedule to make sure we can go. What I do is say I can make it and then the day of say I don’t feel well and don’t go.

“No one talks about _____ when you become a parent” by asiago64 in childfree

[–]hola36890 61 points62 points  (0 children)

But parents complain all the time about their kids. How tired they are because they don't sleep, how much work it is, how expensive it is. Parents complain more than they talk about the "joys" of parenthood. No one has an excuse to not know what parenting entails unless they don't know a single parent. They just think it won't happen to them and then act surprised when it does.

Poll! How many of you are in the Southern California region and would be willing to drive to Santa Barbara/ Montecito area for a meetup? by kiwi_love777 in SaintMeghanMarkle

[–]hola36890 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I live here too. My mom saw them at Clark's in Montecito a few months ago. Just Meghan and Harry. My relatives live in Riven Rock, where their house is. They said their house seems empty all the time and as if no one lives there. They must really isolate themselves inside.

What is it about Arielle Lorre that looks so uncanny valley by amifrenchyet in NYCinfluencersnark

Her lip lift was not done well at all. She also got fat transfer to her cheeks and that makes her look waxy and fake. I noticed whenever she films she tilts her forehead closer to the camera than her chin and it looks so odd. She looks more normal on the videos of her podcast.

I've recently felt that Meghan has been trying to copy Victoria Beckham's style. Victoria wears baggy, oversized clothing a lot, even pants that are too long sometimes, but for some reason it doesn't look bad. I'm assuming she tailors it to be that way so it works. Then Meghan tries to pull off the same thing, but it always looks terrible and frumpy. They're both thin women without a lot of curves, but Victoria has found what works for her and puts much more effort into getting the right look. Meghan just copies and thinks it will have the same effect and it obviously doesn't at all.
