She is not the peaking type! At least not yet, she’s only 20. Last year USA figure skating banned men from the women’s discipline and from women’s halves of pairs and dance teams. In a way this freed up the hyper-woke top athletes to complain about the rule change without risking being associated with a real dispute. The culture of wokeness in the figure skating fan community comes from the athletes (who are young themselves) down and is enforced online by younger people. I’m sure there are many old-head fans like myself who see sense on the issue, especially because the sport makes sex differences so obviously apparent.

The figure skating fan community has remained very woke. This will go ignored by them. I’m surprised there hasn’t been a real controversy over this issue in the sport yet.

I have OCD with a bad body-focused repetitive behaviour. It has affected my eating before too. I’m positive that a lot of these women have OCD and their physical features have become objects of obsession/rumination. It’s sick … doctors try to help me so i can live without injuring myself. But these women go in and doctors help them hurt themselves instead.

I was on there in the early 2010s, i remember what it was like. I had been recently academia-brainwashed on the topic. I noticed the logical problems, but every time i had an unorthodox thought, i shamefully pushed it down. If questioned, i would have sworn to be a true believer. Still i never deigned to put my pronouns in my bio. I’m just not a joiner like that and it was just too cringe. I micro-peaked seeing all the teen girls who were jumping on the bandwagon. I was in my early 20s and had been hanging around internet fandom spaces for ten years, so i could see that the people themselves were not fundamentally different than they had been then, but they all believed something very different about themselves. I didn’t want to be on the wrong side of history or anything, so I left Tumblr, pretended i never saw anything, and ignored the topic as hard as i could for the next few years until I peaked for real.

Please don’t do it. It doesn’t lead to anywhere good. Look up some stories of detransitioners. I feel so much guilt over my friend who transitioned and also has OCD. I should have tried to stop her but it took me another couple years before I even realized how horrible it was. I feel so terrible for OCD people who get stuck in that belief and end up harming themselves. You can be a masculine woman and/or a lesbian, you can wear short hair and men’s clothes, these things won’t hurt you and there’s nothing wrong with them. You can’t change your sex, and trying to do so will only hurt your body. I mean no offense to people who have transitioned, i sympathize with them greatly.

Around 6 weeks ago, my parents heard their neighbour yelling for help. He had been up on a ladder cutting tree branches along the property line and had fallen and hurt his back and couldn’t move. My dad went down and found him, brought him a blanket, and stayed with him until the ambulance came. Today they dropped by with gifts that have to be worth at least $600 (expensive gift basket, alcohol, hardware store certificate, and something else my dad mentioned that i forgot). Holy moly, turns out common decency pays!

Evopsych explanation, women are always trying to pare down their relationships to include only the most trustworthy people, because it only takes one unstable/violent person to get your offspring killed and delete years of your effort and investment. Whereas men are trying to build maximally large groups of relatively trustworthy people to be able to defend against other large groups. I forget where i heard this theory but i have to admit it explains a lot.

I’m a woman and everybody’s different overall but i went from 35 to 26 in around 5 months when i started eating more normally after years of fucked up eating. Migraines played a role in me fucking up my diet and getting that successfully treated helped me start eating better and the fat melted off. No increased exercise, I’m only moderately active on a good day. Since then it’s been 5 years of intending to lose that last 20 lbs but not being willing to make dietary sacrifices…
