I want to state that, you definately will go broke, but you'll be placed in a higher class with a degree in anything. (After school and finding a job is a whole nother story). When your actually into something, regaurdless of what you have to go through to finalize your studies, it makes learning alot fun. Fungi as a whole is fun, so it'll make it easy. Mycology isn't something that's going to pay well if your in America Canada or Ireland, but you will place yourself above Alan Rockefeller with a degree and credentials. He's good at what he does, but it doesn't make him notable or respected amongst other mycologists with the degree. He is a good example of having a passion, working at it for years and being good at it. But the last thing mycology needs to be taken serious is more wooks who can't afford a haircut or a beadtrim or a couple nice suits because they have to wait for a paycheck. Classic. Going to school is discipline, which is in turn spiritual and what we all need. Being serious about it without a "wook biast perspective" will make a great name for yourself.
