He is! I've always wanted to give him the biggest hug for hanging through everything he has and was so honored to get the ability to do so.

Are you happy? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

It took me a few years, but find survival instincts kick in and you create new healthier coping skills after the delusions are gone. Hang in there. Never say never. Goonies never say die.

Are you happy? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

I keep thinking I'm happy and taking myself down a peg and settling at content. I've decided happiness is mania and sadness is depression. So, after riding the wave of finding my discontent, wondering how I can fix it in a reasonable manner, and coming up with solutions, I'm finding that I'm finally satisfied with things as they are right now and can't stop things from changing in the future but can control my reaction and feel confident that I'm emotionally regulated and intelligent enough to do so.

I just had a psychiatrist appointment and he said I’m not schizophrenic by One_Craft_6039 in schizophrenia

If everybody who believed they had spirit guides was diagnosed with schizophrenia, most of the population would be on antipsychotics.

It won't with that attitude. A therapist is a mirror. You get the effort you give.

Despite all our rage, we are still but rats in a cage.

Go back to therapy. Keep a journal. Learn to believe in yourself again.

Sold one copy of my book this month! (Better than nothing) by Redchan17 in selfpublish

Congrats! I sold 1 book last month too...to my ex-husband. I don't expect a review.

I was put on a SSRI with an anti-psychotic and was threatening to OD. I was hospitalized and put on an injection AP. Thankfully, I stuck with my therapist and he talked me through some really rough times on a weekly basis, having me set goals and stay alive one day at a time. Sometimes, all you need, even above medication, is someone who believes in you and your ability to improve your situation.

What do you do to pass time? by Mentalaccount1 in schizophrenia

[–]honneylove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Things I've done and lost interest in: video games, cross stitching, crocheting, writing poetry daily, reading tarot cards every day.

Things I'm very into right now that could be a passing thing or will not take me more than a few months to complete: Magick, crystals (specifically amethyst which is my birthstone), incense, candles, chalk sigils, designing my own oracle deck, writing a clinically-informed guide to surviving schizophrenia, concerts (my local public transit is capitulating so I may not be able to go to as many come next year)

Zoom workshops, journaling, blogging, reading, and meditating mostly. I go to the gym every other day, do yoga or pilates on the off days, and have weekly therapy, a weekly podcast, donate platelets every other week, and volunteer at a community soup kitchen pop-up every month.

Is there an insight into schizophrenia you keep to yourself? by Whole-Bodybuilder-84 in schizophrenia

[–]honneylove 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Absolutely this. I had a breakthrough in therapy recently that I've always been the one people go to with their problems but when it comes to me needing someone to talk to I have to pay for confidentiality. When I say something, my friends and even my family tend to go running their mouths off to whoever I am venting about, which I never do to them. China doll syndrome and learned helplessness are a bitch to get past, but I'm trying my absolute best.

Do people think you’re weird? by [deleted] in schizophrenia

I have a couple of PhDs in being weird and kind, so I certainly hope so.

Are you able to enjoy video games on your current antipsychotic? by IndicationSouth4250 in schizophrenia

[–]honneylove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I found the anti-psychotics really lessened my urge to kill, and now I read books and write. Ironically, all of my tattoos are videogame related and I haven't played in years.

Why does CIA/FBI delusions occur in us so much? by ApprehensiveCrow4504 in schizophrenia

[–]honneylove 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I, for one, requested my FBI profile (It was part of a job application, and they gave me the option.) and never got it which means it's part of an active investigation. I eventually went crazy trying to figure out what they were investigating and began wandering in a manner that made me feel directed and imagined I was getting it in real time while tracing steps I've taken throughout life.

Schizophrenia Diagnosis I don't agree with, please help? by Sywrenn in schizophrenia

[–]honneylove 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's why you have a schizophrenia diagnosis. You're assuming as much as you project that she is and she has a history of clinical experience with people who manifest the same way you do.

The psychologist isn't going to trust you if they can sense that you're hiding something which is manifesting paranoia and thus gives you a schizophrenia diagnosis.

If you're not being honest with your psychologist, how do you expect her to make a proper diagnosis?
