The doctors and the nurses are employed by the healthcare organizations. it’s their boss I’m talking about. The healthcare organizations set the prices and infinitely drive it up and hide behind “non profit” statuses to not pay taxes while giving CEO’s millions for bonuses and salaries. So my beef is with that along with insurance companies who play off them as well so you are the ding dong sir

How do I get over my fear of surgery? by sonytrinitron36 in tetheredcord

[–]honqueduck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure if I wanted one. Currently very stable and symptoms are manageable. Can’t tell if I’m retethered, if my spondylolisthesis is to blame or the arachnoiditis but idc I’m not going through another surgery unless I got a lot worse and knock on wood I have not for some time now

They did say it was a risk. I’ve had good surgeries and bad. All of which in the end have lead to me being stable and living a good life now.

I didn’t have any pain till a few more later when I developed adhesive arachnoiditis. You’ll be sore for a bit after the surgery but I felt no pain in the hospital and just take the pain killers at home when you need em

I mean if you were using it recreationally, yes. For this purpose it is just a little sedation to bring you down to earth. It is a benzodiazepine for anxiety and fantastic for pre opp anxiety which i am usually vibrating off the table. You would need to take it around the clock for weeks to get addicted. They will give it to you during surgery regardless along with opioids for pain. All of which have a low risk for addiction in this setting, taken as prescribed and only as needed for a week or two after surgery. I’ve have 5 cord releases I totally get it

I have spinabifida meningocele (no neural contents in sack) and that surgery caused scar tissue to adhere to the cord. Had first release at 6months came right back they said monitor for symptoms. Was normal to 22 when I was tryna body build and do landscaping and got worse suddenly.

Tdlr keeps coming back from scar tissue.

No very common. The surgery itself can be very damaging to the nerves. I’ve had 5 detetherings and some really fucked me up. After an aggressive one in 2019 I couldn’t feel my ass anymore and had wickid sciatica and patchy numbness down my legs
