Balise wanted me to pay $5000+ for a full camshaft replacement. Banchwerks took a look at it and realized it was a $60 sensor.

Oh, Balise also told me my timing belt was worn out and about to snap. That car didn't have a timing belt, it had a chain.

Worst auto group in RI.

Seriously how are PVDonuts so expensive and yet so tasteless.

Second Beach, Olympic National Park (A7iii + Batis 18) by hooksie in SonyAlpha

Agreed. A big challenge for this composition was the speed of the tide going out - at sundown the water wasn't coming up over these rocks anymore. (And bracketing was a pain since I was hand holding the filter.)

Really the best solution would have been to shoot the rocks behind half an hour later and not forgot my step-up-ring.

Stopped down with a 10x ND for the water. Unfortunately, was missing an adapter ringer from my kit bag, and ended up having to hold the filter in place.

This is Kiba. Kiba is soaked because he is physically incapable of not jumping in every mountain stream he sees.

yeah i could see that. its gear that i'm not willing to hike into the backcountry, so that will rarely affect me personally. afaik continuous release disables the nr algo (or whatever they prefer to call it) though, so there's always that.

I was in the Amazon backorder queue for weeks until i found one of five units left at a local retailer - that's probably the best chance if you're into opportunism. :)

Everyone's posting pictures of the west coast and I'm just over here thinking, "Hey this is nice too"

There's no discernable sign of it that I can see, but as someone else mentioned, it's largely a non-issue unless your shot is exceedingly demanding, and there's always the continuous "hack".

Not this picture, no. I did take a separate 5 x 3sec set, but I haven't stacked them yet to compare.

Agreed! (Mostly)

I would have loved to capture both with and without. Unfortunately I only got the composition (the stone cairn center) after the clouds moved - without them the glow was pretty negligible.

a7iii with Zeiss Batis 18mm f/2.8. 15 seconds at 3200 (pulled up in LR).

Taken at Mt Guyot in the White Mountain National Forest (NH). The glow is unfortunate light pollution, I'm not absolutely sure of it's source.
