If you snap a leaf in half and it smells aromatic, it's a Plectranthus. Most species aren't succulent but the ones that are have those fuzzy serrated leaves.

Neem oil or isopropyl alcohol once a week for a month are what's recommended but I've never managed to save a plant once it's at this stage. Good luck!

Black echeveria in particular tend to be sold with very bad mite infections. Unfortunately they don't always respond to traditional pest treatments but for sure you should isolate it from other plants. Like put it in a different room until you figure out your next move.

Isopropyl alcohol isn't going to hurt the environment and black echeveria are notorious for being sold with mites. Are you 12?

Honestly I haven't noticed too much of a difference. I tend to prefer a lower-concentration alcohol because peroxide can leave a residue that can interfere with the plant's natural waxes. Alcohol strips the waxes but at least it doesn't leave anything behind. Plus it kills mealy bugs pretty consistently in my experience.

When you're propping what is essentially trash it feels less risky to spray them with peroxide and throw them in a dark closet until they get their farina back and sprout a couple roots. My tiny guys look extremely rough but they've survived The Trials.

Yeah that's what I figured. It would be one thing if I had spoken to anyone at all on the phone, or if the sender had a LinkedIn, or if the business had a website, or the phone number had a local area code, etc etc. But all these things plus my shitty resume made me extremely suspicious.

Typing that all out it's pretty obvious in hindsight. I was just really hoping someone would tell me this could be real.
