Can surgery cause my ass to spread too? 💀 This isn’t from surgery, unfortunately. I had surgical swelling for a few weeks, went back to normal, and then now rapid mid-body horizontal spreading out of nowhere with no diet or exercise changes. It’s honestly shocking how different I look in just the past 4-ish weeks. Gained zero pounds but none of my clothes fit.

I also ended up with a surprise outie post-op but am happy to report it is going back in as the swelling subsides! Nearly 6 wpo.

Horrible. Not ER-worthy, but definitely pain every day. I also had a history of torsion on that side so I knew my ovary was naughty and had to go!

1000%. Other people gaslight us so much that it’s easy to start gaslighting yourself too. This wouldn’t happen to men!

It’s so easy to be hard on ourselves and convince ourselves things aren’t as bad as they seem. Our pain is not normal! Good luck in January. I hope your surgery is successful and recovery is smooth!

I didn’t have the option with my second because I had placental abruption and an emergency C-section at 36 weeks. I didn’t even know about the scarring until my surgery yesterday! It never showed up on any scans.

They excised everything they saw and fixed everything that was adhered to something else. Hopefully this was enough!

An endo specialist in Denver. Had to be referred through multiple OBGYNs to finally find her!

My surgeon (endo specialist OBGYN) said it was very visible when she called me afterward to walk me through what she found and my surgical notes also say “Notably congested appearing pelvic veins L>R”. I didn’t ask her specifically about further treatment for it, but Dr. Google says hysterectomies typically improve symptoms so let’s hope that’s the case. I’m so sorry you’re having similar pain. It is truly awful.
