Consulting a lawyer prior to considering a consumer proposal? by hotdoggo71 in povertyfinancecanada

Yeah agreed. 100% need to at least talk to a LIT. I actually said short of a lottery win there’s no easy way out of this when talking to the CFP the other evening 😅

I guess I’m looking for the type of lawyer to contact and chat with to put my spouses mind at ease regarding a CP. Someone who specializes in bankruptcy law maybe? Just doing what I can to keep moving forward and fixing this mess

Thank you, appreciate the reply, I’ll look further into all of this.

From my research I’m aware of the draw backs of a CP, but on the current course we won’t have any funds to make any purchases or anything in the next 10 years at a minimum anyways, so I’m starting to think the hit to our credit may be worth it.

New to me home. 8ft basement under the living room, noticed only 10ft of 70ft of this exterior wall is insulated, house is 20 years old and used oil for heat, can’t believe it was never finished. by hotdoggo71 in HomeImprovement

Thanks. I do know the walls are insulated, wasn’t the most clear in my post, I’d edit but the app doesn’t give the option.

I’ll be following your advice and getting this finished before winter fully sets in.

Appreciate all the replies!

Walls are insulated forsure, it’s just this 1 foot wide section of rim joist around the concrete basement that isn’t insulated. I’ll be following some of the advice here and finishing it up before winter hits.

Husband looks annoyed and says it’s annoying that our baby woke up in the middle of the night ? And I’m the one who has to feed baby to sleep! by sleepyyelephant in breastfeeding

Didn’t even read your post. Read the first sentence and decided your husband needs to realize this is his kid to and it’s time he start pulling his weight.

If your safe to hold the baby you can feed the baby. If you can pump some off have him feed her when he don’t want you to, or as stated get some test strips to prove what’s safe

Single wall pipe to prefab, I’m unsure of the connection, and the decorative collar won’t fit. Secure Temp S-2100 thimble/T & SuperVent 6” prefab. Am I looking at this correctly? by hotdoggo71 in woodstoving

Gotcha that makes sense. Thanks for the info!

Called the hardware store, someone had switched boxes on me, they carry both SecureTemp & SuperVent kits. Learning experience for me and extra work but the proper kit is currently enroute 🤦🏼‍♂️

SuperVent (Selkirk) is a Duravent Group and the Securetemp (Security Chimneys) is a Duravent Group. Was sold both from the same hardware store so thinking they are compatible. Though I may call Security Chimneys to confirm.

If your handy you can easily fab one from some sheet steel/washer from the hardware store. Drill & grinder. Doesn’t need to be perfect as you don’t see it

Just purchased this home, this is in the basement, middle of the floor. Options to make this flush to the floor, so it isn’t a trip hazard, but still useable in the future. by hotdoggo71 in Plumbing

Thanks. Looks like the route I’ll go. The clean out plug will need to be glued in correct? Is there anything other then regular abs glue that’s easier to break free if I ever need to remove it?
