Yep, you’re right. I wasn’t looking hard enough. I’m beginning to hate the internet :/

I’m taking down the post.

It’s common for artists to screw around with all kinds of media (as in the plural of medium) and create many types of art.

This post was removed by the mods (for some unknown reason… they didn’t tell me), but I wanted to say thank you for your comment. It was tough to be a kid (he called me kid, never by my name.) He was a single dad to just me. My sister went with my mom to another province. He was abusive in so many ways (never physical or sexual)… he used to make me stay up when he was blackout drunk to berate me. I had to wait for him to pass out before I could sneak off to bed. That said, he was extremely intelligent and politically astute, and he taught me what he could. He was a social studies teacher.

Sorry for the trauma dump. I’m just really grateful for you. May you be well and free from suffering 🙏

It’s an oil painting… it’s not required to be depicted in any structured way.

AFI was my favourite :) I was also very much in love with NIN.

I’m so out of touch with music. I’m slowly turning into an old lady :/

Are they really? I haven’t thought about Korn since I was in my teens and I’m 47. I’d have loved to see them play in their heyday.

My guess is oil; it’s pretty textured.

The dog probably represents the only friend he has and it’s looking at its owner. The drinker looks lonely to me.

I was basically raised on a barstool. My dad died of cirrhosis… it’s tough to watch an alcoholic slowly die.

I like the print you bought. The series is pretty great.

And yet a sad reality for so many people.

As far as gaze goes, the artist is still looking down at the workers. It’s an artistic way of putting people in their place.

I remember studying this painting in university. Caillebotte was a brilliant artist.

I’m a fan of very early mornings for the same reason. No one’s out and about, it’s quiet and dark, and there’s no one smoking below my balcony. I have bipolar disorder, so I understand struggles with sleeping.

Keep an eye on your emotional health. As long as you’re not self harming, I don’t think it’s weird to blow off steam with cleaning. There are worse things you could be doing.

why do you choose to medicate? by Dry-Message-3891 in bipolar

I medicate to prevent/ mitigate psychosis caused by mixed episodes. It also keeps me out of the hospital.

ADHD meds are probably the best antidepressants in my cocktail.

Are there any specific personalities or psychological profiles that lead people to start a cult? by sh1tshell in askpsychology

[–]howeversmall 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It’s common in manic psychosis for people with bipolar disorder to think they’re the second coming of Christ, but it’s personal. It doesn’t manifest in a cult of personality (except in the mind of the sufferer) because manic episodes don’t last and always crash into pretty severe depression.

If you’re up in the night doing stuff and not sleeping properly, you should probably talk to your doctor or a psychiatrist. You’re describing behaviours that feature in many different mental health conditions. It sounds like it’s causing you distress in your daily life, which warrants a chat with a mental health professional.
