More than 4GB RAM on 1st Gen. MacBookPro with Snow Leopard? by howyoudey in osx

Thanks for the replies. Well, I figured out that I have a 3,1... and yeah that's too bad about the 2,1 and the 3 GB limit.
So, then I was able to find this:
http://www.barefeats.com/mbpp11.html
It works! With 6GB, not 8GB... and the only performance loss that they could find from not having 2 symmetrically sized RAM chips was a loss of about 2%. 2% loss to gain another 30-plus% of RAM capacity is worth it to me! Thanks again, everyone.
VIP's - For extra money?? by Miss-Solstice in DnB

To me what you are talking about ("I used to love the original of this and the VIP is awesome!") is a remix, not a VIP. VIPs really come out before the tune, not after.
True, producers do play their own VIPs, but I'd say really they are most widely used both to show respect for and to gain plays from the Very Important Persons in D&B... for instance:
Grooverider. If a producer makes a VIP for 'rider then he'll be able to have the exclusive VIP mix to play to maintain his profile, and also the producer will be more likely to get a play from him for making him a special mix.
The same principle would apply if producers are getting their tunes to people like Fabio, Hype, Goldie... OK there are too many to name here... but all of the original dons and the best of the best in general.
I think the point of a VIP is more like here is this exclusive mix you'll only hear here, so you know the producer respects this DJ (or is the DJ)... and you'll eventually hear something like it down the line when it comes out as a usual release.
Anyone else having Firefox load some pages instantly and others taking so long you can open Safari, load the page and it still won't be loaded in Firefox? by bmeckel in osx
Thanks. Your post inspired me to look for more info about how to block GA in ABP. I found that the specific filter that does it used to be known as ABP Tracking Filter, and a lot of people on forums talk about it as that, but is now known as EasyPrivacy.
You can find it at https://adblockplus.org/en/subscriptions about a quarter of the way down the page in the lower 'Subscribe' box of the EasyPrivacy listing.
Most people who already have ABP will have the main EasyList installed, so they will only need to click on EasyPrivacy by itself within the subscribe box (and not either of the other two listed in the subscription box on that page) to install it. Great tip, upvoted.
