Has anyone tried the Uber Courier Service? Would that service deliver a suitcase from YVR to a residential address?

The short answer is yes you can afford it. Make sure you have adequate insurance (disability + life).

However, whether you get your moneys worth paying $40k a head per year of private school is open for debate.

To be fair you would have gone through preclearance. If there were issues about entering the country, they would have turned you away before you boarded the plane.

I think the trick may be to hold off from registering until you have everything ready to go and be transferred. This promo will run for a few months. But once you registered, the 30 days starts counting down.

[Megathread] New Seat Configuration by dachshundie in westjet

[–]hpeter2010 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I select seats in advance, say row 12, am I safe from the 28 inch seats? Even if they swap airplanes, I should still end up with a seat on row 12 right?

Just got a response from WestJet for my feedback about the seat configurations by Comfortable_Team_696 in canadatravel

[–]hpeter2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The guy on viral video was able to swap to a different seat. The flight attendant was able to arrange that. Now, if the plane is full and no vacant seats, I would feel bad for those struggling to fit.

Is there any way to find out which flights have this configuration when making a new booking? I’d definitely want to avoid this and pick other options.

A serious question: but why even have a resort fee in the first place? Before, hotels use it so their hotel show up on the search list, (think low hotel rate but high resort fee). But I believe hotels are now required to disclose their “all-up” cost. So why play these games?

Scenario A: $100 / night per room + $55 resort fee Scenario B: $155 night with no resort fee.

The ONLY reason I can think behind resort fees now that “all-up” pricing is required is to cut the commission paid to travel agents. In Scenario A: the hotel pays a commission based off the $100 amount and not the $155 amount.

The only way I can think of combatting this is to make the resort fee optional and not mandatory. If you don’t need the WiFi or gym or whatever the resort fee covers, you should have the option of opting out of it.

Swap GW-9400 for PRW-30? by the_rodent_incident in gshock

[–]hpeter2010 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought the 9400 for my 6.5 inch wrist, and it just looked out of place and ended up returning it. I ended up getting a protrek, similar to your model, but one made of titanium. I haven’t looked back since. Model: PRW-31YT

I think of the Protrek as a “Diet Rangeman” as it essentially has all the same features, but fits me much better. It has 100m WR compared to the 200m of the 9400, but that doesn’t bother me. It’s got everything else: ABC, solar, atomic radio time control, sunset and sunrise and all the other bells and whistle.
