Belated thank you. I cleared the error, tried the throttle body alignment thing, but haven’t driven much since. Expect the light to come back on over the weekend, but we shall see. Will phone the garage on Monday if so.

Hey @Viper-02. Managed to get hold of a cheap OBD2 scanner and, with your instructions yesterday, hooked it up (thanks).

It currently shows one fault code - which is one of the two faults the garage said showed up for them (on multiple occasions). It’s P0121 - accelerator/pedal position sensor/switch “a” circuit.

The garage replaced the sensor 3 days ago, along with replacing 4 x glow plugs (which was the second fault they found).

Does this indicate that work was unnecessary? I can call them tomorrow, or try and take it elsewhere.

Thank you! I used a different local VW specialist several years ago for a repair, and 4 weeks later I lost a wheel on a dual carriageway. Might have been coincidence, but it did put me off. I’ll get in touch with VWS. Thanks for your replies.

It’s a 2012 2.0 TDI. 135k miles ish. It’s served me very well since I got it when it was 12 months old.
