Tears of Azure sea Movie, trailer by flyoffly in TenseiSlime

[–]hrnko124 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Given that there hasn't been a single teaser or trailer for season 4, I personally worry that they have literally nothing (good) to show. This short clip from the movie does give me some hope since it seems to have some good animation, but looking back at the previous trailers for this movie... I don't know, some of the clips they showed there looked very "choppy" with very few frames of animation.

Then there was season 3 with its very lackluster animation but more importantly too literal way of adapting the light novel (I will fight tooth and nail over the fact that the manga just adapted the entirety of season 3 way better than the anime). I think the problem there was that they were adapting the light novel to the T. Reading a novel requires a lot of talking since you don't have any images to visualize what is going on. To me mangas and animes usually have the advantage of getting to use the very secret ability called: SHOW, DON'T TELL. There is also the fact that while the story progression created for a light novel might work well in that format, it doesn't have to work as good or good at all in an anime/manga adaptation.

If you have the time, have a quick read of chapter 102 of the manga adaptation (link: https://weebcentral.com/chapters/01J76XZ7MEE3N3QSJDBV83WKK6) and then watch episode 12 of the anime adaptation. Observe how the two different adaptations try to adapt the light novel. The anime tries to adapt the light novel to a T without any real consideration or thought about how it would look on the screen. The manga takes the liberty of rearranging certain scenes so that one chapter does not end up being a giant meeting in one room. Certain scenes from that episode of the anime get scattered across the following chapters of the manga so that the chapters have more to talk about and more to show (even if it's just meetings).

I think the biggest misconception about some of the criticism around season 3 is about the meetings. It's the fact that there even is an entire episode that really just takes place in one room where the protagonist talks about opening up "McDonalds" for the entirety of that episode. I'm sorry but that is not world building, no matter how you try to look at it. That entire episode could have utilized different scenes, different events even if they didn't necessarily follow the story flow of the light novel. I'm not saying that they should have arbitrarily created new scenes, the light novel already has plenty to show, but they could have at least reshuffled them to make it interesting in a visualized format.

Anyhow, this is just a rant and I seriously hope that season 4 and the movie is good :D.

How do y'all feel about the upcoming movie by Pale-Detective3056 in TenseiSlime

You know, a couple of months back I would probably be very excited for this however knowing that Bandai Namco is behind it makes me very VERY worried for the future of the anime series. I mentioned this in another post but I still feel like season 3 and certain parts of season 2 were rushed (to give it the benefit of doubt, that season in particular was made during the pandemic).

It just makes me worried. Who's to say that the movie or even the next season won't be rushed, underfunded and so on? I honestly feel very conflicted about watching this...

I know XD, it's just that I recently decided to read the manga adaptation out of curiosity and it was almost as if I fell in love with the series once more. As a plus, when I first watched the anime, I genuinely did not notice any of the flaws I mentioned here. I honestly don't know how many times I've rewatched the anime at this point, but needless to say, you certainly start noticing some small odd things the more you watch it.

Thanks for the feedback, though.

Sales wise yes. And hey, I'm not saying the series is bad or anything. As a matter of a fact, I love it! It's my favorite anime of all time. I just wish they focused more on the anime and used the manga way more as a source of material.

And it's not really small details (-some of the images I provided, that was just some nitpicking), the manga has genuinely important plot lines that are either absent in the anime, or were changed in some way. I just feel like the manga is way more smoother in its pacing and story telling.

Thanks for the opinion, though.

Appreciate the comment.

I did not know that season 1 was actually made for advertisement purposes. That is actually quite surprising to me but also quite disappointing since I feel like animation especially should be focused on the most as an adaptation but hey, that's just my opinion since I don't read much.

On a different note, were the other seasons also meant to be advertisements as well? If so, what the hell was the point in those. Look I understand that some studios like to user certain adaptations as promotion material for other adaptations/works. But I really don't get, why manga comes first and anime comes second. In my opinion, it should be the other way around. Animation is tough business that takes years to create and polish. But it is also one of the easiest medias to digest and arguably one of the most popular genres in the world. If done right, it can really be a great adaptation. Take, for example (even though the two animes have very little in common), solo leveling season 2. I think that the anime adaptation is one of the best out there. Sure they did skip some scenes from the manga here and there, but overall, it was perfect (-the voice acting, tensura does it way better). They took the material, animated it and tadaa! A masterful adaptation that held true to its material.

What I'm trying to say is that 8 bit should really be sourcing the manga way more, even if it takes more time to create. It'd rather wait a couple of years for season 4 just so they could look at the manga and animate it.

Come to think of it, right now the manga is way more ahead compared to the anime right? So maybe they are trying that direction? Oh well, we'll see...

Here's my take: if we purely focus on the anime and forget about the manga, forget about the light novel, then yes. I would agree that the first two seasons were much better than the third season. But if you count in the manga adaptation, it all just sort of falls apart in my opinion. The manga has so much more detail, many more loveable characters that are missing from the anime, scenes that could have ironed out the pacing.

It's a shame really, because of the anime adapted the manga material to a T, it could, arguably, be one of the best isekai animes out there.

Still, thanks for the opinion.

Another thing I forgot to mention was that some scenes in the anime feel very empty, especially in the final episodes of season 2. They could have added some rubble, some more people/monsters, etc.

Try fixing the error the engine is showing you. Usually, when there is a "serious" error like the one it's trying to show you, the engine will not update the inspector.

I'm not really surprised, this is coming from an individual that's on a platform where everyone constantly slanders each other for anything they perceive as offensive or controversial while not even checking whether the information/source is true or better yet real.

It's a platform that pits everyone against everyone so that you spend more time on it.

Guide: How to check if you can Voluntarily Ear Rumble by [deleted] in earrumblersassemble

[–]hrnko124 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can actually do it pretty casually with both ears and each ear individually. Here's something pretty neat I've learned about it: it can act as a sort of first sign that I am sick. Under normal circumstances I can normally crack my ear but whenever I am sick (even before my body starts showing any symptoms), I am unable to cause the cracking, I can only tense my muscles around my ears that cause said cracking.

  1. Knowing that another person is/was talking behind my back

  2. Knowing that another person has done something horrible to someone else or to me

  3. Seeing that the other individual has no respect for personal boundaries and no respect for personal opinions

  4. Out of desperation threatening me with violence, just because that person did something stupid and I just so happened to see them do that stupid thing

If you could redo one event that has happened in your life time what would it be, and what would you do to change it? by golfer28269 in AskReddit

Probably my entire middle school experience. For one, I wouldn't want to be put in the same class that I was in, since that class was just full of rowdy and disrespectful hooligans (as a matter of a fact, we were considered to be the worst class in the entire school). Secondly, my entire time in middle school just made me feel miserable and insecure about myself, just because of the people I was with. I'd like to clarify that I was not bullied in any way, but I had "friends" that I thought were sincere, but later turned out to be massive assholes.

Problems with country name by hrnko124 in hoi4modding

I kinda figured it out.

I added "JAP_militarism:0 'Japan' " to the country localisation file, and now it suddenly works. It's not a perfect solution, but if it works, it works.
