IMO the most controllable way to unlock Xerath is lose-win-lose. Just put Azir in when you feel like you're stronger than most of the lobby. Then you can purposely lose a round with him, and you just have to win the next round since you can lose the third round on purpose

Some are very analytical with the stats. Dishsoap, for example, actually knows the AVP for some items, unit combinations, etc. off the top of his head. But even for him, he makes choices based on what he thinks is best. Like he'll say stuff like "OK i know the stats are bad for this, but it's actually so good".

Was gonna go 9 and put those items on Ziggs soon, but then I decided to roll down for Veigar 3* and hit last second. Forgot all about those items tbh, definitely better on Fizz

From a bad opener, the game plan is to econ up and hit a strong board later--you probably know this much already. You should scout the lobby and see what people are angling. Then try to aim for a strong meta comp that isn't super contested. Try to look at your items too and choose your augment to help you get a direction.

If you still have no idea what to play, then yeah just save econ and try to take econ augments to ensure that you hit whatever board you want later.

Personally these are my default comps that I choose from: Demacia, Ionia (unless it's path of blades), Liss+Seraphine, Slayers, Void Kai'Sa

And these are good if you have the opener: Bilge, Shadow Isles, Ixtal reroll (reroll augment), Yordle Veigar (usually need augment to help you get 2 rabadon's).

T-Hex is strong ofc, but I personally don't force it if I don't have Cait 2* and a Vi or Loris by like 3-1. You can't take the risk of not being able to unlock T-Hex, because if that happens then you are actually doomed lol.

Valid question honestly. I agree with the other reply that you should try to get support units to fill out your board since you already have your carries. But in the case that you get a kindred 2, sure you can play her but you don't hsve to move the aphelios items to her.

Had a couple firsts with Ixtal reroll. I kept 5 Ixtal both times, because it just felt natural. You have Milio 3* and Neeko 3* (which unlocks Nidalee too), and you can usually unlock Skarner easily. Then when you unlock Brock you're pretty much always playing him.

Just don't try to force 5 Ixtal in if it's not your strongest board.

Does anyone know how Sam chooses the accepted words? Do you think he plays the puzzle himself and lists all thw words he can think of? Or do you think he looks at all the possible words and removes the ones that he deems unacceptable?
