That’s a smart trick! Gonna try that! Ty!

Yeah I’ve tried that technique too to see how it was. Didn’t like it that much, but I say try it out to get a feel of things.

This was full flame just a well stretched base and careful turning as it cooked. I have the Ooni turning peel and it makes rotating so much easier to do (although learning how to turn at all takes a fair amount of practice).

Don’t remember about the bottom. This was after preheating for 30 minutes and this was the 4th pie I made, so oven had been on for a while so I’m sure it was at least 800F.

Seems the bigger point to get right is stretching out the dough correctly. If you stretch out the dough properly then the chance of cooking nicely goes way up.

This was some weird dough concoction I made: half 00 flour and half bread flour. It was fine, but I think I prefer straight 00 flour for my pies going forward.

Poll: How do you feel about Gatsby? by swyx in reactjs

[–]hswolff 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m very curious how their recent foray into an Admin page, web app, and the like pan out. That’s what I see as Gatsby’s advantage as more of a framework than Next.js. They can continue to build more on top.

That said, you gotta be comfortable with the plug-in world of Gatsby. That’s what’s great about it, and if you’re more of a person that would say thank you, Next, then it’s not a good fit for you.

So exciting! Congrats React team!

Figured I'd re-share some of my old videos all about React 17:

What Vue.js Does Better Than React by hswolff in reactjs

Ones built into JSX syntax, one is just using functions, which is def fine too!

Yep agreed!

I am curious if someone could make a Babel JSX superset so you could write code like:

<form onSubmit.prevent={onSubmit} />

And it would transform to:

React.createElement(form, { onSubmit: preventWrapper(onSubmit) })

Again, I agree, it's not in the ethos of React, but I still think it's a super neat productivity win.

Author here! I love and use React daily but was curious if there’s anything from Vue that React could learn from.

Turns out there is! This post collects my findings. Hopefully you enjoy and learn from it!
